I can not believe you are asking a serious question because you obviously should know that catholics are Christians. You also put a slam in the question by saying pray through idols like Virgin Mary. I am not catholic, but you are so obviously making fun of them.

Great decision !! Go to a Catholic church in faith and be relaxed. You can sit down and pray if you do not yet know the prayers of the Mass. You wont offend anyone. Do not receive the Body and Blood of Christ yet till you are a Catholic, but you can go to the priest for a blessing . Pray to the Virgin Mary for grace and strength on your new journey. The statues of Our Lady and the saints in church are not for idol worship , but only to remind us of them who are alive in heaven and intercede for us before God.
You can inquire about the RCIA classes and start going to these regularly so you wil have a proper understanding of Catholicism.
I would very strongly recommend praying the daily Rosary (at least five decades) which you can say at home. You can buy the Rosary beads from a Catholic store. Mother Mary appeared to three little shepherds in Fatima, Portugal in 1917 and repeatedly requested us, the faithful to recite the daily Rosary.
Here are Her fifteen promises to those who faithfully recite the Rosary (five decades or more) everyday.

Here are some good articles about this most powerful prayer which will protect you from evil and from the danger of losing your faith:

You can ask someone in church to teach you to say the Rosary correctly. It is a series of prayers that are vocal and meditational wherein you meditate on various mysteries for e.g. the Scourging at the pillar, the Crowning with thorns, Birth of Our Lord, Presentation of Our Lord, etc. These beautiful prayers of the Rosary are said in the company of the Mother of God and are of great value in God's Eyes.
About how to say the Sign of the Cross properly (which fingers to use) that will be taught to you when you start attending the RCIA classes. Here is a good website that will teach you more about the Catholic faith:

God bless! All the best and stay strong in the Catholic faith! Dont forget the daily Rosary!

What do your parents think of your decision? Somehow I find your question insincere, as I'm certain many others giving you answers do.
If you are Christian, why the preoccupation with idolatry? Whether or not you are a Christian, I have no problem with you attending a Catholic church. You will learn a lot about Christ there.
The questions I have for you are:
Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior?
Do you love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength?
Do you love your neighbor as yourself?
Do you love other Christians as Jesus loves you?
If you do, you are far ahead of many young people your age. Whatever your true belief, I pray that you not show animosity toward denominations with which you do not agree. There is no need to slander anyone, even Satan.
Want to know what Christian love is? Read chapter 13 of 1st Corinthians. If you want a little insight into making fun of others who do not believe the same as you, read the 14th chapter of Romans.
Keep your focus on the Lord. God bless you my friend.

Learning at least something about the Catholic faith would help for a start. Catholics ARE Christians. The Virgin Mary is NOT at idol.

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.
There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
With love and prayers in Christ.

I am a convert after being Protestant for 50 years, 25 of them as a minister. First of all. if you want to pray to idols, you probably will not be welcome at a Catholic Church as it is not a practice that we Catholics have.

First, we do not pray through idols. Second, if you're serious about becoming Catholic, speak with a priest. He'll guide you in the right direction.
God bless, and welcome home.

If you haven't been baptized, you cannot recieve the Holy Eucharist. You have to go up with your arms crossed in sort of an X shape over your chest. You should go to the church office and join R.C.I.A. so you can be baptized and recieve the sacraments. I'd be happy to explain more via email. Congratulations on joining the Church!

I think your words give you away. Talking about Mary being an idol certainly didn't help your cause any.

Catholics ARE Christians, and they don't "pray through idols." If that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere.
