It is very bad for her enamel! Constant brushing, especially if the technique is not right, can wear away her enamel and that can lead to decay, cavities, sensitive teeth, gum recession and many other oral health problems. Brushing after breakfast, after lots of sugar, and definitely before bed will be plenty.

This can be unhealthy for her. If she is brushing this often or brushing pretty hard, she could cause her gums to recede. If that happens, the roots will be exposed. Since the roots aren't covered with enamel like the crown of your tooth is, they can become very sensitive to hot or cold foods or drinks. Also, since the roots are softer than the crown, she could develop cavities on them more easily. If she can stop brushing her teeth so compulsively, she should. If she tries to stop but can't, she may have OCD or some other issue, and should talk someone.

It's not unhealthy unless she really has OCD! It is recommended to brush your teeth after you've had a meal. So if you calculate, about 3 main meals + 2 breaks = 5 times a day! That's not including after one wakes up in the morning & before sleeping so (5+2=7 times a day!)

1. Does she smoke? If so, that's the reason. 2. Does she have a stomach problem or bad tooth? Bad you said it's from the nose. are you sure? Because I've never heard of anyone's nose to stink. 3. Ask a doctor, and once you find what may be possibly worng, just tell her you noticed there is a smell coming from her breath that could indicate such and such and that she should test such and such. It is more polite that telling her that she stinks, that sounds like an accusation, while what I am telling you shows you care for her health.

Sounds like obsessive-compulsive behavior. Too much hard brushing can wear the enamel off of your teeth. Then you have to go for a bonding.

Does she have braces? If so, she probably needs to brush that often to keep all the gunk out of them. If she does not have braces, I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say she's OCD, but it does seem excessive.

I think she is worried to much about dental health. I would be worried to. But maybe it isnt as bad as you think, she might have real bad breath, stained teeth, or something else like that.

You can suggest her to see the tips on http://www.otan.dni.us/webfarm/emailproject/white.htm

She must brush with fluoride toothpaste after ANY whitening method to prevent tooth decay.

I hope it helps. All the best!
