Childress stated after Sr. died that he will NOT put another black goodwrench car in a race field. Why would Jr or anyone for that matter want that kind of pressure about getting in that car after the history it has, that black goodwrench number 3 isn't just another car, it was Dale Earnhardt.

Yes and no. Yes, he should drive for RCR but no he should not drive the #3 Goodwrench Chevrolet. He is not his dad and can never take the place of Dale Sr. I feel that if he did drive the #3 car people will be making more comparisons and that can be a bad thing.
When Sr. was killed I thought his car number should have been retired. Atheletes in other sports have their numbers retred all the time, so why not in racing?

I think this could happen, Goodwrench left the 29 to take a smaller role, but remained with RCR. However I think Budweiser would pay huge money to stay with Junior... probably more than Goodwrench would pay.
As far as RCR goes, I think if he leaves DEI, RCR will probably be the place he lands. However, do not over look Gibbs racing, Yeley has not lit up the #18, and even if they keep him, they could also make a 4th car. They have been more competitve than RCR at this point in the season, and over the last 5 years.

So Junior has options... RCR is certainly one of them.

He should leave DEI, that's for sure. As for driving the #3 with Goodwrench as the sponsor--well, I think Budwiser would get into a bidding war with them for the sponsorship. My personnal feeling is if was to leave DEI, he should go to Petty or Ginn Racing, but Gibbs isn't out of the question either. No matter where he goes, or stays, Bud will follow as his sponsor like UPS followed Jarrett. Since most teams own the car #'s that they run, then he would not be able to take the #8 with him, and if he went to RCR, he would be in the #3; or RCR would need to petition NASCAR for an unused number.

It would be better for him to seperate himself more from Dale Sr's image and truly be seen as his own person more. Unfortunately most of his fan base is because his name and name only.

IF Dale Jr left DEI the only place I'd like to see him is at RCR. But never driving the #3 Childress has the rights to that number and should retire it.

I think Jr could make a go of driving for anyone. I dont care the color of the car but he should stick with his #8. That is his number. I feel the #3 could never be what it was, no matter who is behind the wheel. I do however feel IF someone has to drive it, why not give Kerry Earnhardt a chance. The resemblence between him and his dad are amazing. If any face was coming out of that window I would want it to be his. Maybe given the chance he would amaze us.

If things don't work out with DEI, yes i think he should drive for RCR. Richard has always told JR. that if he wanted a job with him, he would put him in the 3 car. JR. wants his own, ownership. I think he can get it with his dad's company. i don't think Teresa will let him go that easy. It would be bad for business.

Driving for RCR would probably be the best thing for his career...he is going no where fast where he is now. If he drove the #3 car I think that would be tacky and of low class. He is not his father and he needs to step away from that. His fans that where Sr. fans expect him to be his father and sadly only Sr. can be Sr. He was a legend and I don't think that is heredity.

He could drive for RCR, but I don't think he needs to drive the black 3. He needs to be his own man. There will never be another Dale Sr. And there doesn't need to be. I think Jr can stand own his own two feet very well.

Not a Sr. or Jr. fan but no one should drive with the number 3 on the car EVER in Nascar. If it isnt number 3 should be retired. On who he should drive for i have no meaning since i dont cheer for him.
