There is no difference in being dumped or not. Love is the overall root reason that people cry at all. Be it family, friends, or girls/guys, love is love.
Of course you cry over love, and crying is the way to express it. Grieving and crying over love, or being in something great and cry because you're in love. All the same.

It sure is an expression. For example if you are leaving a loved one for a matter of time to let's say another country you might cry if you're higher on the emotional scale. It's a way of showing the degree of love you have for someone.

Yes in some way. Crying shows emotion and passion and that is important. Some people do not express their emotions through crying but that doesnt mean that they dont care. They may not be capeable of tears or emotionally unavailable.

Yup. It's a weird kind of joy that can only be expressed in the form of tears. Freaks a lot of people out sometimes but the ones who get it understand.
