Genesis describes God creating everything. If you take the Bible literally, then you have to believe God created the Earth and everything on it, which means you can't accept the Big Bang, which doesn't mention God (though I suppose you could believe that God "lit the fuse", so to speak, and caused the Big Bang, but that still conflicts somewhat with a literal interpretation of Genesis).
If you don't take the Bible literally (or at least the Creation account in Genesis), then I guess there isn't an issue as far as the universe being created, but I'd wager you'd hit a roadblock later on when you wonder about how humans came to be...

It is so frustrating trying to talk to a person with a closed mind.
It is said that God created the earth. It does not say that He conjured it up out of the void. The creation included the big bang as part of the creation process.
For all those that say that there must be a god because who else created the stuff of the big bang, a more important question is: Who created God?

I believe in the big bang. It will happen right after the tribulation when God lets go of the world and everything blows apart.
If you can show me one thing that, after it's made, continues to get better rather than break down, I might possibly be able to start to consider evolution, and the big bang at the beginning rather than the ending, as viable.

even though science proved that the big bang theory was a work of God. the Bible NEVER mentioned anything that relates to the big bang. however, the qu'ran DID mention it in spite that there were no technological advancements in that time. maybe its more of a religion dispute, or pride maybe.
what ever religion you are, there is only One God. He may come in different names, but they are all the same God that we know.

Biblical literalists cannot accept a 13.7 billion year old universe, since they have already stated the Bible is absolutely true and says the world is 6,000 years old. They're committed to the lie.
