I'm talking about would you date a girl that was 185lbs but had the greatest personality or would you date a super hot girl knowing that she was dumber than a dirt. I need some answers because I'm doing a paper on this for psy class!

Generally speaking society values outside apperances more in almost every situation. This is because you only have moments to decide on people in most situations and in the others first impressions still count since you get so used to making quick decisions in the rest of your life. This means people will like the better looking person for jobs, romance, whatever. Now this does not end things for people it just means they have to work harder. And it is pretty clear that "Social intercourse leads to sexual intercourse" so if you are around a person long enough and they have a good personality, ..... as long as they aren't dog ugly by your standards...., you might en up with them.

That depends. Who's gonna put out more? Seriously, Physical beauty is not the end all to realationships for men. Even the most beautiful woman in the world at some point will have to face a man who has grown tired of f#@king her. A great personality is the difference between a wonderful life with someone, and being willing to try to much cough syrup on the hopes that it will provide an escape.

One guy's perspective:
I am not going to lie. Attraction is very important but is not directly linked to weight. Many things cause attraction. An attractive face, how she smells, her laugh, common interests. All of these things count.
Personally, I would DATE a dumb/hot girl but I would have a RELATIONSHIP with the girl that stimulates more than just...well you know.

P.S. Another question to ask is would a hot girl date a heavy guy?

I believe that personality will far outlast looks any day. We have to learn as people that everyone has merit and worth in this world. We have to take the time to get to know people for who they are. The outside of a person will always fade. It's always what's inside that will last. Ask yourself this -would you want someone who honored and respected you and was willing to work on themselves, or would you rather have someone who was totally consumed with themselves and had nothing to give to the world.

Listen, I'm not shallow but if I had the choice between a ditzy hot model and an average great personality girl, I would pick the model 100% of time. Most guys would and if not, they are lieing to themselves.

looks can only take u two steps but personaly takes u the mile. LOl i remeber a few weeks ago i was at this party i meet this first girl and started talking to her the only thing i could remeber was DUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHhh but then later I was chatting with this not so hot girl and damn I was hooked lol we still hang out even now and we are closer than ever. lol beauty fades with time

That depends on what your looking for.
If you want Mrs. Right (potential mate) go for personality.
If you want Ms. Right-Now (Sex for you, eye candy for the jealous masses) looks are all you need.
Looks are temporary and deceiving. Everybody gets old and cosmetic surgery only covers so much. A good loving personality goes further in the long run.

most guys would say looks first.. actually most ppl go on looks alone at first.. thats what would attract a person to another.. but lets say he/she met thru phone or computer and liked how they were and fell for their personality. that would be mainly the only times personality goes before looks.

Personality, because it doesn't matter what she looks like if you can't stand being around her. Plus, her personality is part of what makes her attractive or not.
