What about living examples of transitional life forms?

Monotremes: the duck-billed platypus and the echidnas - they're warm-blooded and have hair (just like mammals), but they lay eggs and have no milk-producing nipples (just like reptiles).

From a strict standpoint, they're not transitional creatures, but descendants of early transitional forms, retaining the intermediate characteristics. They demonstrate a number of facts about evolution and survival -- most notedly that some branches may only have a few representatives, and that intermediate forms have intrinsic survivability.

The fossil evidence clearly gives a picture of mature, fully functional creatures suddenly appearing and staying very much the same. There is no real indication that one form of life transforms into completely different form.

But transitional fossils *abound*! ... What's the "No" about?

( Creationists complained for a dozen decades about no whale transitionals until several were found in Pakistan, Afganistan, etc. )

There are LOADS of transitional fossils. You only have to open your eyes and be willing to learn about them!
