I accidentally left the diaper cream out and my daughter smeared it in her hair. I have already washed her hair 4 times with baking soda and it is not helping.

I didn't realize about the baking soda I was told at a salon I had oily dandruff and to use baking soda to strip it out so I thought it was ok to use. I guess I won't go back there again if they told me to use something that would hurt my hair.

If anyone has any additional solutions I'd appreciate it and am going to try everything listed. We already had to miss church this morning and she has school tomorrow so time is of the essence.

Don't use baking soda, that will strip the hair and damage it. Sounds like the diaper cream used is very oily.

Simply wash the hair and scrub it good at least 2 times. More if needed. Rinse with warm water, if her hair is long enough, go as hot as you can then a cool rinse to close the hair cuticle (since warm water opens it). Just be very careful with the warm/hot water!

Good luck!

Use clarifying shampoo. You can find that in any store that carries shampoos. It is also known as a deep cleanser for your hair. Clarifying/Deepcleansing shampoo are made for that.
