Most weight gain doesnt necessarily come from them but All of the above contain saturated fats, which are one of the worst fats for you. so that combined with all the sugar people consume...and junk food. will lead to weight gain

I don't think so. First I'm not going to mention meat, I have pets, and I don't eat animals. As for milkfats the body can more easily metabolize milkfats (except I wouldn't say it's best because of the way they treat the animals, and the chemicals they put in it nowadays- I have my OWN cow).
saturated fat coconut oil helps thyroid function which contributes to proper weight maintanence. (will actually make you LOSE weight) vegetable oils are mostly quite unnatural, (i never noticed the oil in corn- but somehow they get oil out of it) therefore more difficult for the body to handle. Most ppl are fat from eating refined crap, fast food etc. and lack of excercize

Well, do to fast food, we are the fatest country in the world, (ever see "super size me?"). But since about WWII we came out with some not so healthy things. In world war 2, the soldiers needed quicker food, thngs that didn't take so long to produce, and less paricial things, so they came out with things like margrin (chemicaly altered) to fill those demands. Also a lot of people think it's just saturated fat that makes us the fatest country, but then we came out with Trans Fat. Trans Fat is artificial fat, and when it was made, heart desease, obisity, and other such things shot through the roof.

Depending on the body type, folks might be more prone to gain weight from fats (ectomorphs) or from carbs (endomorphs). That's why not all diets work for all (ie, Atkins works for endomorphs, the zone works for ectomorphs).

weight gain occurs as the result of a caloric excess over an extended period of time combined with a lack of sufficient daily exercise. there are no specific food items that cause fat storage

No, weight gain comes in different forms in different people. But in Americans, its likely to come mostly from sugars and other forms of empty white carbs.

No. Sugar and carbs. Carbs are the worst because they slowly turn to sugar which takes your body longer to digest. NO CARBS. BAD, BAD, BAD for you.
