You can bring them ONLY if they are in 3 ounce containers or smaller and you declare them when you go through security at the airport. If they're in larger containers you'll have to put them in your checked luggage. You can always buy a smaller "travel size" tube of toothpaste that's small enough to be carrie on.

More specific info. at www.tsa.gov - that's the federal government agency that regulates this stuff (they make the rules not the airlines).

Yes. If it's in your checked luggage, you can bring however much you want. If it's with your carry on, you can bring as many 3 ounce or less bottles you can fit in one 1 quart clear zipper style bag. You just have to pull the zipper bag out of your larger carryon and put them separately on the belts to be screen.
