YOU RACE TO THE HARDWARE STORE AND BUY A SMALL TUB OF SPACKLING COMPOUND ( ABOUT 3 BUCKS) AND A SHEET OF 12O SANDPAPER, FOR 75 CENTS AND A SMALLEST (I INCH WIDE) spatula.

follow the directions on the can to apply the spackling (smear it in, wait til it dries (usually overnight) then sand it smooth. The smoother you put it on, the less the sanding.

paint is another matter.

Most Wal-marts have hole filler that comes in a tube called Painter's Nail Hole Filler. Has an applicator that looks like a sponge. Just squeeze it on over the hole and use the applicator to smooth it out. Hope your walls are white or off-white!

I've seen this stuff at my neighborhood drugstore and grocery store too.

go to the dollar tree or one of those cheep stores and buy the cheapest tube of white tooth paste, put it on your finger and fill the holes and wipe them clean with a damp cloth, for colored walls after they dry go back over them with a marker that is a little darker because the toothpaste will not show up as dark as the rest of the wall after you put the marker on it.
