Lortab generally takes between 30 minutes to an hour to work. Be sure to drink plenty of water when you take the pill. If after an hour you still don't have relief, you can probably safely take another pill, or even 1/2 pill. Depending on the dosage, you may be able to get the dr. to call in something a little stronger, especially if they're only 5 mg or 7.5 mg. Dr. can call in 10 mg dosage for you. Good luck.

They usually took me about 45 to an Hr. The pain kinda gradually recedes so you don't notice it all at once. If this is the first thing that you have taken for pain for this injury and you are comfortable with it (to be sure you can call a pharm.), since it's been an hr. I would take another one just to get the medicine into your system. But after that follow the directions.
Stopping original pain is alot different than maintaining reduced pain.

Sometimes an hour. It works best on an empty stomach. For severe pain it may take several dosages taken at normal intervals to build up in your system. I too have shoulder problems...having surgery on thrusday. Applying ice may help the inflammation therefore helping the pain. Good Luck Dear.

What is Lortab?
Lortab contains a combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Both medicines are pain killers. Hydrocodone is an opioid pain medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.
Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of hydrocodone.
Lortab is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
Lortab may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

30-45 minutes.
If you're allowed, take a second pill. If after another hour the pain is still bad, you need to talk to your doctor. You will probably have to go to the ER or urgent care. There is nothing stronger that they can call in. You'd have to be seen.

Usually about 45 minutes to an hour. I usually notice it in about 20-30 minutes, but I'm very sensitive to medications so that's probably why.
