I've been experiancing symptoms of Anxiety/Depression. I went to my MD and she agreed with me. She put me on meds but i had a really bad time on them and she told me to stop, told me I could possibly be bipolar becuase its coming out in late teens (im 18). She referred me to the local mental heath clinic. I was very reluctant to go but was basically forced to by a very close friend, the lady who did the assessment on me ruled out that I was bipolar but was experiancing anxiety with brought on depression. She told me to go back to my MD and get put back on meds, so I did BUT .. it was suppose to have been a joint effect with both my doctor and the clinic keeping an eye on me and the meds. The doctor bothers me but I dont have a problem going to see her but the clinic I'm avoiding their phone calls so i dont have to make an appointment. What should I do ... Can I just stick with my own Doctor ... Should I phone the clinic and say no stop phoning? go for one appointment? ANy Advice

I can't quite figure out why you are avoiding the mental health clinic. However, the best possible way to recover from Anxiety/Depression is a combination of medication and therapy. The doctor can prescribe the medication, but is less skilled in counseling. The counselor at the mental health clinic will be talking with you about how the medication is working for you, whether it is helping or not, whether you have problems with it and how to get better. If you had a bad experience with the counselor you saw at the clinic, you can ask to see a different one or go to a different place. If you have problems with the medication, let them know. There are MANY types of medications that your doctor can prescribe for you. No one needs to go through the pain of anxiety and depression. Please follow through with medication and therapy. In the long run, it will help and you can feel better. Try another appointment and stick with the medications. Best of luck and feel better!

I would talk to your regular MD and tell her you were not very impressed with the mental health Dr and can they recommend someone else? They can usually find another Dr for you to see and get a 2nd opinion to help you through the tough times!

How might you comply with teachings that you simply feel "are improper"? Does Buddhism train to comply with a course of deception? Is that what your dad and mom desire - so that you can faux to be anything you're no longer. Will that cause them to completely satisfied? I suspect no longer, but when they're relatively that egocentric, then the disappointment is typically extra manipulation than precise. If you feel and fully grasp the gospel of Christ, why might you reject such an superb salvation? God has paid this kind of prime fee to make sure your salvation. Why reject what you feel to be actual? Perhaps God will use your salvation to convey your dad and mom to Himself.

can i recommend something friend??? try something alternative put some loud music on your mp3 rage against the machine , mettalica or something like that and go to the nearest place you can run for 30 min or walk for 1 hour whenever you feel like that. It worked for me. Don't take pills you re so young and you must fight it. F......k the doctors. They're stealing your money. Go run and you but only you talk with your self and fight it. And scream at the end of your run as loud as you can.No one can help friend . Only you can help yourself

In your explanation, it is not clear why you don't want to go to the clinic. If you son't like the counselor, tell your doc you can't establish a relationship with this person and ask for a different referral.

My guess is that you think alot.

Reduce your thinking and your symptoms will decrease.

Thinking about problems is always a problem. Think about something.

Thinking about ourselves is certainly a way to feel low in mood and experience shifts in moods.
