if you're washing dishes or doing heavy cleaning - try to wear gloves.
if you're making a big batch of meat loaf or pizza dough and are using your hands- get a little box/ring holder to put it in.
if you're washing your hands or taking a shower it should be fine on your finger - unless it's loose and might slip off.
if you take your ring off- always put them in the same spot - invest in a box/pouch/holder and make sure the rings are insured.
don't leave the house without your rings- if you're aroudn the house with just you and him then he should know that you're married/engaged and don't need to show it with the ring.
try talking ot him and try to get him to calm down but ease his mind a bit and don't take it off everytime you wash your hands.
if you're doing hard labor or something really dirty like baking or gardening then it should be ok to take off.

The only thing that will happen, is the gold will dull and need to be re-buffed by the jeweler every few years.
I have white gold with a solitaire diamond. The only time I take it off is when I'm scrubbing with bleach (my skin is sensitive so if the bleach gets in and rubs between my finger and the band, I itch pretty bad), and cooking that requires my hands-like making bread dough, just because I don't want to have to scrub the dough out of the setting when I'm through. I have a shelf above my kitchen sink, so if I'm in there, I simply put it in one of the shot glasses on the shelf, and push it all the way back to the wall, so there's no chance of it falling and getting lost. As long as you ALWAYS remember to put it in a safe place, preferably the same place each time (makes it easier to remember) it shouldn't be a problem.

My fiance gets nervous when I DONT take my ring off when I shower or do dishes. He also asks me to take it off at night when I sleep so that I don't scratch him with it *which happens frequently.lol* I always put my ring somewhere where I know it won't fall down the drain or anything. Just make sure you don't put it above the sink or something.

I have been married for 8 years and was engaged for 5 years before that. I take my rings off everyday when I get home from work. Sometimes they're in the bedroom, sometimes the kitchen, sometimes the living room. Your fiance needs to lighten up a little bit. Take the rings off if you want to. Just be careful and remember where you put them.

I've had my rings on for 20 years with the exception of when I was pregnant with my son and for cleaning reasons. At this point, they don't come off due to some weight gain. It is a rare day when I can get the engagement ring off to clean. Instead, I use the red liquid/brush cleaner to do it right on my hand. If I am doing heavy cleaning with "nasty" cleaners, I wear gloves.

I keep my rings on through everything - wondering why you think yours shouldn't get wet? The only two things I really take them off for is mixing hamburger meat with my hands, and kneading dough. Those two are just way too mucky to clean off afterwards! Otherwise, rings are meant to be pretty indestructible!

"Never take your ring off" was the best advice I ever recieved. One woman I know took it off to wash her hands and she lost it. It's better to have a dirty ring that can be cleaned than no ring at all!

You should keep your ring on at all times and as long as you want. I do suggest that you take it of when washing the dishes and clothes. Don't let that diamond fall of your finger down a drain pipe.

Well you really shouldn't take it off at all, if it's REAL, then you have nothing to worry about, I've had my rings on for 10 years now, and not once have i ever taken them off, your fiance does have something to worry about, because he wants you to be his wife, and if you lose the ring, he knows he will have to go out and buy another, he's telling you what's right, now if you're going to be his wife, and a good one, you can start now, by doing some of the things he tells you to do......
