P.S. JC, perhaps you are smarter than me. Maybe you do have more than two degrees , who knows?

However, as you have the same birthday as me (with the latter digits transposed) I'll forgive you. :)

Dude, it's another year yet! Besides, why? I'm smart, have a job that pays double the national average, a bloody good social life and a beautiful wife who loves me (and I her) very much. Can't a guy be a little immature now and then? ;)

What scientific studies have proven that atheists are more intelligent than theists? Making unproven statements puts you on the same level of thought as the theist's you hate so much.

So far I don't know of any statistics which explicitly say that, on average, atheists are in fact smarter than theists. However, it is known fact that scientists- often regarded as some of society's smartest people- are less likely to believe in God than the general public, with the effect increasing with more well-known and important scientists. This and some other evidence suggests that yes, atheists are in fact smarter on average than theists (although the problem is actually getting such controversial results published).

Why? Most likely because intelligence is associated with logic, and people of higher intelligence are more likely to look at the world logically rather than emotionally and therefore are more likely to come to the conclusion that God probably does not exist. When surfing the Internet, it's easy to see that almost all atheists back their beliefs up with evidence and logic, while many theists obviously base their beliefs primarily on their emtions, something a more intelligent person would be less likely to do.

technological know-the way it no longer continually organic intelligence. technological know-how is forming a concept and proving it the two superb or incorrect. you could comprehend plenty a pair of little element and be a scientist. so being a scientist does not make you clever. Being a theist does additionally no longer make you clever. So the question is somewhat beside the point.

Atheist might be smarter because they do not use G0d for a lazy answer.

Example:

How did the universe form?

G0d.

Why do bad things happen?

G0d is punishing them

Who is truely considered evil?

Whoever G0d considers evil.

If G0d say red is blue would you belive him?

Yes, G0d truely sees everything for what it is.

However, test been done and it appears that Jews are the smartest people so since they are theist I would have to say

theist are smarter

Yet, if you are an atheist you just proved to be an exception to your statement.

You are imprudent when you write about what you are thinking. That shows signs of ignorance, revealing you are not so smart as you think you are. You may probably read a lot, and probably also judge a lot, but real intelligence (that which you learn from processing your experience correctly) leads to wisdom.

And my friend, I do not mean to hurt you or anything, but I don't think you are wise enough to judge. In fact, if you were wise, you wouldn't judge. And judging from your comment you are very far from achieving wisdom.

PS. I don't think I'm wise BTW, just smarter than you. And I don't think I'm a theist, but I know theists and atheists smarter than you.

Most of my atheist friends are, indeed, quite intelligent. On the other hand, I've met a few atheists who honestly couldn't think their way out of a paper bag. Their idea of a sound philosophical argument consists of bellowing, "Christians are sheep!" and leaving it at that, without so much as a nod toward rational discourse. There are intelligent theists out there, as well as atheists. And there are idiots on both sides, too.

I don't cut and paste 10 paragraphs. I have heard of links. And I understand what macro evolution supposedly is. I don't believe that all atheists are more intelligent than all theists.

You know I got that one wrong on the IQ test, too? Proves IQ tests are slanted towards atheists. I did get the one right about relativistic mechanics though.

Hmmm. I know many theists who are very, very intelligent, one of which being my father, an expert in mechanics, chemistry and mathematics. It all comes down to how you view life really.
