It is a false dilemma and an appeal to ignorance. Most religious attacks on science are these approaches. Unfortunately, they fool many people this way.

well i believe (actually i know but w/e) that God created us all, from the Bible. Evolution is a bunch of junk, why? for a couple different reasons majorly against evolution, the biggest 1 is no transitional forms where ever found, (or missing links if you prefer) 2. mutations make things LESS LIKELY to survive 3. towards the end of his life, Charles Darwin (the person who made up the theory of evolution and the book "Origin of the Species) didn't believe it himself and KNEW that it was false. 4. the big bang theory? there is no way you can get something, out of nothing, except if God created it because, well He is God and He can do anything. O and about "God creating through evolution thing" the Bible says directly he created the earth in 6 days and on the 7th he "rested," many people say people say that God's days would be longer than ours but that is false, in the Bible, it says God made the light and darkness and this is a day. (basically but i cant remember the exact quotes) there is a lot more reasons but i can't think of them right now. anyways, when you wake up in the morning and your every breath is proof of God's Existence and is proof that he created you, and me, everyone else, and everything in this world. ".. that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16b I know all this and im only a teenager, and God has blessed me throught my life in many ways, which is just another reason i know that God is real

You can be a creation of weird science or some idiot with a bra on his head at a computer terminal
I'm a creation of God, proof is in the fingerprint and the mirror, better take a closer look at yourself.
Where were you?... when he taught the birds to fly, or the lion to roar, when he told the oceans to only go so far. Every sinew and muscle fibre, tissue, blood platelet cannot be a creation of science, unless it was created in the science lab.
Because Darwins >theory< is just what it is...a theory,an assumption. Even Darwin finally gave in and said there must be a higher authority than mans assumptions.
Darwinism--just what it is...an "ism"

Some Christians believe that Creation and Evolution are not mutually exclusive.
The Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.
One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good.
Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution. Or not. The Church does not require belief in evolution.
On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis:
The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.
Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html
The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.
As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.
With love in Christ.

Erm, excuse me but no-one is totally trashing Darwin's findings. The only problem Christians have is the THEORY that man evolved from apes - given what the Bible says. Evolution has clearly happened to change species over time to adapt to different climates etc but that does not invalidate Creation in my estimation.

1. Christians aren't the only ones who attack Darwin's theory.
Pierre Paul Grasse', French zoologist calls Darwinian evolution "pseudoscience,"
David Raup, paleontologist wrote a paper entitled: "Conflicts between Darwin and Paleontology"
Hoyle and Wickramasinghe (both self-professed agnostics), in "Evolution From Space" wrote The general scientific world has been bamboozled into believing that evolution has been proved. Nothing could be further from the truth."
2. Christians - even creationists - believe in evolution. They do not believe in the evolutionary explanation for the beginning of life, nor do they believe that all life evolved from one source. The basis for creationist evolutionary thought is "baramin," a Hebrew word translated as "kind" in Genesis. Evolution has been observed and is scientifically proven within each "kind."

Darwin's theory has long ago been disproved and is why the definition has changed so frequently. Most people on these boards supporting evolution have obviously never read his theory but are defending the latest incarnation of his theory. Those of us who believe that God created all things find the discoveries of science as just affirmation that there is a God and that He created all things by design and that all things did not create themselves by natural accident as the secular evolutionist would claim. We just find such claims as nonsense and thankfully science supports our views despite the desperate attempt to do otherwise.
I have a degree in biology but one of my best friends is a biochemist and a professor at a major medical university. He has spent most of his life mapping DNA and has gone from an atheist to and agnostic and is now a theist as a result of his research. His own theory is that life is too complex to have evolved without design and that because of this there must be a designer. So, one can believe in God as the creator and still believe in science by taking a pragmatic approach and not just assuming that science denies God but instead embrace science as man's cleverness to reveal Him that created us.
In Christ

Well, is there a third option?
Reaserch "Darwin's wager:"
If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down.
--Charles Darwin, in The Origin of Species
There are several complex organs that could not possibly have come about by a series of small, incremental changes.
But it is not necessary to go that far. The micro-biology of the cell has complex functions that could not possibly have happened by Darwin's method.
Just one example: the membrane of the cell is pourous to oxygen and carbon dioxide and other poisons; but it is not pourous to the "jell" of the insides of the cell. It is strong enough to hold the cell together, but weak enough to allow other functions necessary for celular functions. Then there all the components of the cell, including the flagellum to move the cell as necessary.

They believe evolution is wrong because god created man in his own image. They attack evolution out of fear someone will believe it for what it is, the truth. Also there's not much left after creation or evolution, I can't think of a third choice. So if the christians prove evolution is wrong that leaves creation.

Because they can't come up with enough evidence to support creationism; the only alternative is to try and debunk evolution. It's amazing how much "evidence" is supplied to support creationism around here; none of it actually does, all it does is try to refute evolution.
Sorry, even if evolution was wrong, it wouldn't make creationism right.
