I lost about 60 lbs in the year 2001 (went from 220-160). I started taking risperdol in 2002, gained 20 lbs in 2 weeks and even more after that. I have not been able to lose a single pound since then.
I probably weigh about 300 lbs.

Most antidepressants have a side effect of increasing the appetite, thus increasing your weight and once it is put on it is very difficult to get off.

I have had this problem for years and it wasn't untile I started taking a medication that reduces my stomach acid was I able to put a hold on my diet. I have started losing weight, but as anyone can tell you it is a hard going.

One thing that may help is to drink plenty water. A wide range of medications give you a dry mouth and that leads to drinking more colas or fruit juice, it can also make it hard to know when you are really full since your mouth keeps demanding more. So if you make sure to drink plenty of water each day then not only will it reduce your dry mouth, but it will replace some food making you feel full more often. Health studies have shown that each person should drink at least 80 oz of water each day.

Many people ask me how they can slim down. I recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I suggest using natural Hoodia (it's important to note that not all Hoodia works well, even if the bottle says "pure" or "standard").

The Hoodia sold at http://www.aboutu2.info/free-diet-pills.php is in my opinion the best Hoodia on the market. It's pure, has no side effects, and they give you a free sample bottle (there is a $6.95 shipping and handling charge).
Fantastic results have been seen with this particular Hoodia.
