Oliver will try to scrape litter from the roof of the pan, the sides of the pan...everywhere except for where he should actually be scraping from. Do you think he is so clean that he doesnt want to touch his own poopy? He has always done this. He also acts like he is trying to cover his water and food sometime by making a scraping motion on the floor around his bowl. Kind of weird. Any idea what this is all about?

Maybe he don't like to flush when he's done.

I have heard that some male cats CHOOSE not to cover their messes because they feel they are the 'king' and don't need to be bothered. I'm not sure that's what's going on with your cat, though. Perhaps take the suggestion to (gently) show him how, or buy him a bigger litter box.

I've also wondered why cats will sometimes try to 'bury' their food or water. Maybe in the wild they will bury a 'meal' so that other predators won't get it. Or perhaps they feel it's not good enough and are showing disdain -- I really don't know!

Hummmm, maybe I'll go ASK!!
