machine says ,no disc ,can not read this disc.Whaaat??

turn the dvd over and see if it has dirt or maybe a scratch on it if it does the dvd player won't read it you may need to use a dvd cleaner with a very soft cloth good luck

When did you last clean your machine? For around $8 you can get a cleaning disk which will step you through the process. VHS owners are advised to run their cleanup tapes through every 40 hours, while dvd players mention 10 hours. You can probably ignore the 10 hour advisory as I have, but you should run the disk every week or two if you use your player regularly. Also, inspect your discs before you put them in, wipe off with a soft non-linty cloth and you should be back in business.
