I hated Jeff Gordon more than any other athlete, because he's trying to steal NASCAR, and now has more career wins than Dale Earnhardt.
And this season he has 2 wins, 5 poles, and it's points leader by 200 points over second place

So honestly you hate him because he is good? Who cares if he has more wins then Earnhadrt? I mean he will never pass number 3 to those who saw him. Wins don't mean much in that sense. Besides Gordon will likely never get the 7 Championships to tie what REALLY counts. Honestly though I'd say that yeah he is the most hated driver right now. Although seems to be that plenty hated Dale Earnhardt as well.

No, I don't think Gordon is the most hated driver. I think a lot of non-Hendrick fans are upset because their drivers are not having as much luck. The fans that threw beer cans at Gordon at Talladega were only a small portion compared to the whole fan base. So far this year, Gordon hasn't caused any crashes, made any other competitors angry, and hasn't been complaining about his performance. I don't think there's enough reasons for the majority of the fans to hate Gordon.
I do believe that Tony Stewart has made not only some fans angry, but also NASCAR, in his comments about the sport and of other drivers. Just because he hasn't had a win or a good start of the season doesn't mean that he has the privilege to start bad mouthing everything and everyone. Every driver has their ups and downs, and it looks like Tony still needs to work on his temper before reacting towards his competitors and NASCAR. His comments not only look bad for the sport, but they also discourage other drivers and a lot of fans. I believe that's why Tony is the most hated driver in NASCAR right now.

I am beginning to think that these questions thrown out here are for a 5 year old to answer..Problem is, a 5 year old hasn't mastered the keyboard yet.
I will say again- Hate is such a harsh word. Especially toward a sport that is entertainment for a fan to enjoy.
Records are made so the next talented person has a goal to aim for. I wasn't happy with Jeff Gordon surpassing Dale Earnhardt's number of wins, but it has been done. And about Gordon's domination this year? It seems the more NASCAR balances the field out, the more everything stays the same...

ARE U KIDDING ME! Jeff Gordon may be the most dominate driver in NASCAR history but alot . Dale sr was a great friend of Jeff's and jeff learned from him. the only reason u hate him is that dale sr is gone and jeff is taking over the sport. u think he is just another pretty boy from california. the real deal is that jeff knows how to drive and alot of drivers look up to him as in he's the big guy of the sport. he is the most hates in the sport but lets see him break darrel waltips record, huh. no one will be scramin at him when he breaks his record. so just give it a rest. the nascar beer chucin fans are just a lame exise for cowards who dont have any respect for others and for themselves. so the answer is hes is the most hattes but he is the most loved. and also a lot of u hicks are the same so just get over it

I would say he is the most hated driver in Nascar right now but he is getting a little competition from his teammate Jimmie. Just look at how many questions there is on yahoo answer asking about Gordon (Stealing nascar, how he is handed races etc etc). Gordon fan from Denmark. GO HMS

To the little Jeff Gordon hater, until he came into the sport, Dale Sr. was the most hated driver. Even Dale Jr doesn't understand why people hate Jeff Gordon. Dale Sr. taught Jeff Gordon and took him under his wing. Dale Sr. told everyone that Jeff Gordon was going to be a better driver and break his records, even Sr. knew that Jeff was a better driver. Get over it Dale Sr. fans: Jeff is a better driver, while Dale Sr. has more titles, Jeff is driving in an era with better competition, and look at his dominance today.

Your reasons for hating Gordon are very immature and irrational. Basically you hate him for being one of the most talented drivers ever. Records are made to be broken, there was a time Earnhardt broke others records and guess what he was hated too!
So to answer your question, Dale Earnhardt was probably the most hated driver to date. He pissed people off not only because of his talent but he was arrogant and his argressive style of driving.

Well golly geeez, another Gordon hater. Who would have ever guessed that? He's not trying to "STEAL" nascar, he goes out there every week just like the other 42 drivers and gives 100%. He's on a hot streak now and I hope he stays on it. It gives me something to do when all you other jealous fans can't say something good about your driver.... That is exactly what is going on right now, all you other fans are a bunch of sore losers and can't stand it when Gordon beats your driver. Grow up and maybe you'll respect someone with so much talent. I didn't like Earnhardt, but I didn't hate him or say bad things about him, I did respect him. You should really pay a little more attention in English class too.

Well, I can't say he is the most hated driver in NASCAR, but I can say he is the most hated in my house. Not because he wins quite abit, but because he drives a Chevy. He has talent and knows how to win. I take my hat off to him for that. But I will never root for him to win until he starts driving a Ford or a Dodge. Oh, and I have been a NASCAR fan for over 35 years
