We tithe. We also give above that to other ministries in the area. The quality of service does not influence our contribution. If we are not happy with the pastor, we can change churches.

i tithe, not for the quality of the church service nor for the sake of others that may have wandering eyes, nor for any BS plaque that some churches hang on walls to idolize those who want to be seen as the big donaters.
I tithe to constantly remind myself of the blessing i and my family receive, from work, from life, from everything. It is a minuscule thing i can do to keep myself from becoming greedy, and forgetful.
I tithe when i can, I do not have a set amount, nor does anyone care how much I or anyone else gives, If i only have 5 bucks, then thats what i give, if i can give 50 then great, 500 whatever.
I think people become so involved in wanting to be "big shots" that they have to announce how much they have given and expect something great to happen to them.
It's not about quantity, it's about learning a lesson and keeping yourself in check.

Yes, I do it because I enjoy going to church and by tithing I contribute to its upkeep. My tithe also makes it possible for my church to provide some community services. Nothing except how much money I make influences my giving.

I do tithe, but not in the usual way. I am a Witch, so I don't belong to a church of any kind.
My way of tithing is to feed the feral cats that live in the parking lot where I live, and getting them spayed and neutered. I also feed the birds and squirrels. This is my tithing. I tithe to Mother Earth, not an artificial organization.

I tithe but I do not believe in the concept as it is normally taught. In the New Testament the beleivers of Jesus Christ sold EVERYTHING they had and diveded it among the poor because of great famine. Paul went across Asia collecting for the POOR. Everytime you see giving in the New Testament is directlly to support the poor, elderly, widdows, sick and such. It was the Roman Catholics that made tithing into this "give money to make the church fancy" concept. They made their churches nearly entirely out of Gold in the 4th-7th Centuries.

tithe? No. there are no colection plates passed around. there is a donation box located at the back of our place of worship, you give what you can. God loves a cheerful giver and does not demand 10% of your wage.
