I'm having a crisis of faith. Please help me christians. Surely God did not have to have such an awful sacriface for us to be clean? Why not just forget about all and forgive us anyway? Dont get me wrong i have already accepted Jesus but I have this awful doubt. Why such a bloody sacrifice as to let them kill your only Son

It was done to be symbolic. You see in the old testament people would have to sacrifice the purest and cleanest animal that they had.

Christ, having never sinned, was the purest man alive. And because Heavenly Father was really his father, Christ sacrifice was eternal. Meaning that even sins we commit now we can ask Christ to take them off of us.

By this we come to God through his son Christ,

This was also symbolic of the love that we should show to others. God loves all of us there fore he sent his son to save us.

We must go out and show that love for all aswell.

It is because God has to obey the laws that he himself sets up. If he did not, he wouldn't be God. He cannot just "wipe the slate clean." That would defy the Laws of Justice that he himself set up.
There is opposition in all things--good and evil, happiness and sorrow, etc. There are good choices and there are bad choices. There are rewards (good consequences) for good choices and punishments (bad consequences) for bad choices. This is the way the universe works. These are the laws that God upholds. What I'm trying to say is that when someone breaks one of God's laws (sin), they must receive the punishment. If the price is not paid for breaking a law, God's whole system would collapse. There is no way that he could allow some to break the laws and get away with it and others receive the punishment. Justice demands that a penalty be paid for breaking the law. If not, the Universe would fall into chaos, and God would cease to be God. So, the only way for God to be able to forgive us and spare us from receiving the punishment for our sins is for someone else to suffer the punishment for us.
That is why Jesus Christ was sent into the world. He is our advocate with the Father. He said that he would suffer for all our sins if we would just believe in him and repent (stop committing the sin). Jesus was the infinite sacrifice that satisfies the demands of Justice and extends to us Mercy.
I understand your concern. I'm sure God didn't want to see his Son put to death that way. But it was the only way to save us from the punishments for our sins.

Jesus dying on the cross satisfied God's judgement on sin. You are having a problem realizing the severe damaging effect that sin has had on the human race, and indeed all of creation. God is not just God of Love, he is also God of Justice.

Forget and forgive does not say that the perpretrator is willing to change, or even wants to change. If you let every prisoner out of prison today, a too large percentage would end up back in there again, for even worse crimes. God gives us all a chance to accept his pardon. It was not a free pardon, someone had to pay for it, someone who was willing, God himself. You look at the blood and gore, but Jesus only looked at the separation from his Father. Jesus only looked at the weight of all the world's sins through out time that was going to be placed on his shoulders. That was the real punishment, the real horror. You look at the blood and gore, but I look at the love and wisdom of God. When I consider the resurrection, I look at the power, and it is that same power that raised Christ from the dead, that offers a new life to you and I. God is good. Amen.

God created the universe and mankind with certain rules to go by. God is very much into order and everything fitting together. God said life is in the blood and a blood sacrifice was required to redeem us, so Jesus was sent as the perfect sacrifice.

God gave Adam the Blessing, not a blessing, but the Blessing, to have authority and dominion over the earth. Adam, as you know, gave this authority over to Satan when he was disobedient to God's command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (by the way, there is no mention of an apple being eaten; it was some kind of fruit but the bible does not say specifically what it was)
God, gave his authority to Adam and then stepped aside, because God made this covenant with Adam, to have this authority, he could not step back in and break the covenant even though Adam had violated it.
Now that Adam had committed the original sin and gave his authority over to Satan, God now had to find a way to get this authority back without violating the covenant he had made with man.
God sent his son Jesus, as the perfect unblemish sacrifice, to suffer capital punishment for our sins; God did this because he loved humanity so much and wanted a way for us to be redeemed from our sins and escape hell.
Jesus had never sinned but Satan, knowing the scriptures, knew that whosoever 'hung on a tree' was a sinner, so he believed that Jesus was a sinner, when he was not, and after his death Jesus went into the bowels of Hell and defeated Satan and took back the authority from Satan that Adam had lost.
Humans now had a way to be cleansed of their sins and they could do this if they would repent (turn away) from their sins and trust in Jesus. Jesus did pay an awful price so that we sinners could go free from God's judgment and the wrath to come if we die in our sins.
To be able to understand this love, that God would sacrifice his Son for you and me and every human, is to understand the deepest love, which is called Agape. Jesus has paid the fine for us so that we could be set free and if we will accept God's grace (unmerited favor) and put our faith in Jesus for what he did for us, follow God's Law, the 10 Commandments, then we can enter into His Kingdom and have eternal life.
'the soul that sins shall die', Ezek.18:4,20. All sin will be punished wherever it is found on the day of wrath. God does love sinners, but He Hates Sin and will punish all who have not repented by Judgment day.
So, without Jesus' bloody sacrifice we would all be going to hell. Please read your bible, study it and ask for the baptism of the Holy Spirit so that God's wisdom and knowledge can be imparted to you.
Don't give up now on God, the other alternative, the world and its sin, will kill you and there is plenty evidence of that all around us.

He could have done it that way. But, he didn't. Even before Jesus died there already was a system in place for forgiveness of sin. Jesus did away with that for good. Now you have exactly what you just described. And the good news is that you didn't have to do anything. God himself did it for you. Knowing what God would go through for you and me, should make you even more appreciative.

Why question God's ways when we can't even save ourselves.

Lord have mercy Charles, the theological blunders are marvelous. look into Luke 22:14 (financial disaster 22, verse 14) interior the recent testomony of your Bible. Christ replaced into tempted via devil, a fallen angel. Christ presented himself up as a sacrifice for the sins of the completed worldwide, and the Eucharist, frequently present day in Catholic mass (and likewise celebrated as communion at Protestant church homes), celebrates the final supper. look into the above biblical passage to analyze it. Christ isn't devil. Lord, which you may even say that provides me utter chills up and down my backbone. Christ is a existence giver, the alpha and the omega, the 1st and the final. devil consists of undo all that Christ did, yet Christ defeated it as quickly as and for all on the bypass. there is no bloodthirsty Christian God, yet a God of affection, mercy, therapeutic, and redemption. God bless you.

God asked for sacrifices from man; animals and....lambs. So if man did it for God, why shouldn't God do it for man? He sacrificed His only son...as a lamb to wipe away the "sins of the world", so yes, it was bloody and cruel. The sins of the world would be quite horrific if you think about it. He wanted to save all of His children, all of us, generation after generation, not just the people who lived during Jesus' time on earth, so He sacrificed His son. Jesus asked to be saved from that fate, but God said, "No". He loves us all that much that He had His son suffer for us. God deals and communicates in lessons. Sometimes we don't get it the first time, sometimes we don't, so he has to keep giving us lessons...It is all God's plan.

We all wait for the day when God, our Father will look at our big brother, Jesus and say to Him, "Go and get my children now". I'm ready Big Bro, I'm ready to come Home anytime!

When that Judgment Day comes, our Big Brother Jesus will judge the living and the dead and I pray most of us will go Home with Him to Heaven to dwell in our Father's House, many rooms I hear it has!

It makes me happy just to think about it!

Email me and we can talk about it. God Bless!

God is a god of Justice. It required the life of a perfect man to pay ransom for the perfect life Adam lost. you have to remember in Eden Satan made the challenge that God was lying and this in effect challenged Gods right to rule mankind. Gods justice is reflected later in the Mosaic law with a life for a life. Jesus was Gods only begotten son and he was allowed to be tested by Satan and he suffered a painful death. But he proved once and for all that a perfect man can remain faithful to God. Jesus set the blueprint and as Christians we all strive to attain his example. Finally read the first chapter of Job and this explains a little of Heavenly life, there were many sons of the living God or Angels who are witness to what is going on and wiping the slate clean would not have answered the challenge. Think of it this way. If you had a neighbour who bad mouthed you with lies wouldn't you want to prove them wrong. But it could take much of your time and resources to disprove the lies and this is similar to what God has done he has allowed time to disprove Satans lies and even sacrificed his own son. God does this because he loves us and wants us all to live forever.
