tonight is prom, and im going with my friend, who im beginning to think isnt my friend anymore. we're going with the "popular" kids. they arent my sort to hang out with, but my date is friends with all of them so they they decided to go together.
all the past dances i've had were miserable, i was somewhat, obligated to go, i didnt' want my mom to feel bad her son doesnt like to go to any dances. i've had dates for every dance i went to.
tonight the kids im going with are most likely not gonna talk to me because i have some of them in my class and im a quiet guy who never speaks really.
I know im gonna have a terrible time, one of many, at this prom, my senior year.
What would any of u suggest to bring ymself back up from tonight? like not physically doing something, but mentally.

heres the deal, you're going to have a terrible time because you care way too much.
you're a quiet guy? so am i. and i have tons of fun at things like those. who said you have to talk to those lame popular kids to have fun? find someone you like to talk to.
and who cares either way? even if you stand there and watch people, if you're having fun who cares? if you're worried about impressing your date, or like you feel obligated to be a party pleaser or something, you need to forget that.
who... cares... who cares what your date thinks, ask her to break away from her friends and spend some time with you. if she won't do that, ditch her. go home if you're not having fun. and who cares what your mom thinks? if you tell her you weren't having fun, she'll understand.
i understand that you want to be some image of someone who goes to dances and has tons of fun and networks well and makes people laugh and lives up to the person everyone else is telling you to be, or whatever. you know, movies, tv, you always dream about being this total cool guy who says all the right things and plays all the right games, and you just have to realize how stupid that all is.
who cares.... go there, hang out, play it by ear, find ways to make it fun for you. don't be concerned with pleasing the other people there. it's PROM... it's a little school dance you'll go to with people you probably will never have a lasting connection with anyway...

ok just because you dont like the ppl that your going with doesnt mean you cant have a fun time with your date. Seeing its your senior prom its probably best if u at least try to have a fun time, you will only have a senior prom once!!! I made a mistake and didnt go to mine and i really really regret it, so try your best not to make your night and your dates night bad! If you want to make a good impression on the ppl you are going with, then get in on the conversation, talk about what they are and try to make up a topic to talk about, your date will appreciate it and so will the company you have!

First of all, you have already set your mind that tonight won't be good and you won't have fun. Now, this is a mistake. Instead, try to be more optimistic and think that tonight is Prom and you are done with school and off to a new life.
Secondly, So what if the other kids don't talk to you? I don't think you are going to prom to talk, it's to have fun with people and dance with your prom date.
Thirdly, build up self confidence, man. You should know who you are and that you are worth being with, and if they don't want to talk to you, they are the losers, not you.

Enjoy your Senior Prom and not think about the kids you will be with tonight. You have a date so talk with her. Or start a conversation with one of the guys there. Ask them where did they get their tux from etc...
Many of your fears may just be because the kids don't talk with you in class. Maybe after tonight, things will change.
have a good time and don't get yourself worried about something you aren't sure of.

Just have a positive aditude and focus on what Seinor Prom is for- having a great time with your friends and remembering your fun times. strike up a conversation with someone, or at least your date, or ask a question like most embarrassing moment, and then it'll get a little smother as you go along! Stop telling yourself you are going to have a miserable time, or you will. Try talking to the other kids, and realize that this is your SENIOR prom, the last one - You are going with the "popular" kids, you have a date, this is YOUR prom -

i think you should brighten up your attitude. your attitude will determine how your evening goes..if you seem unhappy you will have an unhappy time. jus relax sweetie. make the best of your time there. && u dnt only have to hang out with them. if theyres sum1 u been wantin 2 tok 2 nows ur chance. its the end a senior year. so if u been wantin 2 get 2 no sum1 tok 2 them 2 nite. but make sho eertin u do 2 nite is fo u not fo ne1 else. need nemo help my email is sweetangelxoxo7@yahoo.com

If your date ignores you, ask another girl to dance. I've been
amazed to hear about people going to the prom with one date and spending all their time with another person, but it happens. Just be yourself and have the best time you can.
