I've also been losing weight, ive lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks, and this diet is awsome. I do cardio workout (running, walking) and core toneing (Sit-ups, push-ups, leg lifts) for at least 35 minutes per day. I also kick around a soccer ball for awhile. Also eat 800-1000 calories a day. Watch those calories!!! Try to eat at least one salad a day, eat wheat bread instead of white, eat yogurt and learn to snack on carrot sticks, apples, and other fruits/vegatables. Also, eat your bread products earlier in the day, believe me this diet is awsome and will totally have you slim and trim. I am also your age, and your probably getting ready for 8th grade formal or just a hot body for summer. Good Luck!!!!!

Well, first you have to control what you eat. Look at the nutrition labels, they're there to help. Try to look for low fat/fat free things. It's not as bad as it sounds. Eat a lot of fruit. Breakfast, try just fruit. (Especially bananas no joke) Avoid fatty drinks and unhealthy sodas. Try to keep you weight in balance
Then once you've done that i have one word, exercise. Yep, you saw this coming. Exercise and eating right are the keys to weight loss. Try doing exercise like crunches or aerobics while listening to the radio or something. Just for a few minutes a day. There are many other things you can do, try a sport at school or pick up one on your own. Try running around the neighborhood. Riding bikes with your friends. Exercise doesn't have to be boring.
Best of luck to you and don't give up!!!!

That is a lot of weight to lose in a short amount of time. Be realistic and try not to set your self up for failure. You should be proud you are being proactive on your weight, though it doesn't sound as thought you are too heavy for a teen. You body will probably lengthen a lot this summer also.
Fro your health - it is diet and exercise. Avoid junk and preprocessed food. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Avoid Sodas. And walk at least thirty minutes a day at a good pace - not a slow pace. Make your heart work a bit.
Good luck!

Well you should start walking and getting out every day. Even if you dont feel like it, it will make you feel so much better to just get out and do something physical. You could also start eating, smaller, but more frequent, healthier meals. Like dinner have a salad and some pasta with maybe a piece of pumpkin bread for desert. For lunch have a pb&j with crackers and cheese. I've been doing this for about 3 weeks now and i've lost 13 pounds! Also watch the sugar and calories. ive gone 3 weeks without having anything with accesive amounts of sugar. and i've gone 3 weeks only having 2000 calories every day! Good luck!!!!

Start walking!
If you are healthy, start out with, at least, 30 minutes a day.
Your walking should be at a comfortable brisk/fast pace. Next week add 5 minutes for a total of 35 minutes a day.
The following week try two 20 minutes walks a day. This should get you very close to your goal.
I recommend that you :
Continue your walking through the summer for, at least, a minimum of 30 minutes a day but vary upward to 45 minutes or occasionally an hour. Walk with a friend to make this more interesting.

To loose over 5 lbs in the next three weeks you need to cut 1,000 calories from your current diet, each day. Adding exercise will help. Given your current weight and height, it doesn't appear you do much of that now. Start with walking each day. At your height and weight, you will burn around 80 calories per mile for every mile you walk. If you walked 5 miles, you would burn up 400 calories. That would reduce the amount you need to cut to 600 per day. Drink plenty of water and don't try to starve. You body knows when you are starving and it holds onto its fat.
If I were you, I would stay on this diet through the summer. By the time school starts everyone will think you are hot!!

Good for you for trying to keep healthy! Focus on a lower wieght (2-5 lbs). You need to get an exercise routine. Is there a gym at your school? Or maybe running laps? You also need to watch your diet. Try to eliminate fatty/sugary things. You should talk to someone about this, I think it's great that you are looking to be healthy, but this should be done with the help of an adult. Your parents preferrably (since they could take you to a private gym, and help with cooking healthy meals). If not, maybe you could talk to your gym teacher, or even the cousiler at your school who will be able to provide you with information about what exactly a healthy meal for a 13 year old is, and give you suggestions about exercises. Good luck to you, and don't worry too much, you are within the normal wieght range for your age and hieght.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
