Can social security numbers be added if it was forgotten when it was mailed?

Just sit tight. They will get a hold of you if they do not have your SS#, or they may look it up theirself. If it was a form that was mailed to you, your SS# would be on the sticker that had your name and info on it.

When they reject your return as incomplete, they will send you a letter telling you how to correct it. You can't file an amended return until your original return is accepted. That won't happen until you correct the missing SSN. Contrary to what some have said, the IRS won't fix it for you even if the number is on every piece of paper in the envelope.

if you filed any W2 forms they will have your social on them.
If your address hasn't changed since 2005 they can look you up by address and name and contact you

You could get the invisible man to go in the IRS service center and write in your SS number,,,

File an amended return. However, I am sure they will notify you.
