I'd prefer that we adopt the kissing in public part here in USA because I do feel that I am intruding. I was in line at the grocery store and there was this couple (probably newlyweds) all over each other and kissing. I was so embarrassed. I can only look at the magazines and candy but so long. I felt this was a special time between them and should not be on public display.

While it is perfectly normal I think people should think before they get to intimate in public.

I see no problem in holding hands in public.

Well we don't kiss in public for the simple fact we respect ourselves, each other, our families and the public around us. Who wants to see two people all over each other.

Of course we kiss, we have children don't we? We marry don't we? We love don't we? We are human aren't we?

If i am with my husband in public and we are parting going in opposite directions we kiss good bye but on the cheek. We hold hands in public. It just we don't passionate kiss in public. Would you want your mother, sister, aunt, daughter being kissed like that in public? Is there not a time and place?

Conservative Christians, orthodox Jews, and Hindus don't kiss in public, either. At least, not that kind of kiss.

Islam is the religion of Modesty !! and Modesty is part of the faith !! Like being clean and honest is part of the faith !!
Also, other people's feelings are taken into consideration whether they are small children or old grannies not to arouse their feelings, of course the teens and middle aged couple. It is important to keep and adopt a clean and simple lifestyle !! Kiss and other halal things in private with your beautiful wife !!

Public displays of affection are not allowed in the usa military either. Islam is like socially backwards on some traditions I think, [no offense, just a matter of fact!]

I'm assuming you mean super traditional, robe wearing types. You must, otherwise, how could you were tell they were Muslim, since you obviously don't stop to like, think, n stuff.

But, basically, just like very reserved Christians, they feel that doing so in public is inappropriate. So, yea, they're shy.

Sure they kiss - they have babies, too! Public personal affection is against the law in Israel, too, if you're a tourist at their synagogues, you'd better not even hold hands!
