Actually, I dumped the worst possible boyfriend in all the universe and now am looking for the opposite, but when i asked all these questions together, I got a bunch of people telling me I was an unreasonable *****, so I'm trying to figure out what on my list is unreasonable by asking in other ways, and apparently a slew of people think I am being very reasonable.

Depends.. I'm a drinker myself & I don't find a problem w/it as long as I know I'm not hurting others or doing anything stupid &have control on my drinking. My bf thinks I drink a lot & I refused to seek help.. because I know I really enjoy alcohol, and I don't start trouble when I drink & he's still w/me. I dont think its a reason to end a relationship or not to even start one because you have a drinking problem. It just depends if you become a different person or not when you drink.. Good luck =)

Only if I were extremely insecure and had an over bearing need to fix someone.... so if your none of those, my advice to you is run like hell, get a puppy and train it. Sure it'll pee in your house, but it's a whole lot cuter than a drunk (eventually it'll be trained and a great companion), puking and peeing on your favorite Ficus tree!

NO, NO, NO. Refer him for help, tell him to get and then be supportive, but do not get romatically involved. The only person you can change is you. I was involved with an alcoholic for 15 years then, duh, married him, had 2 kids and was miserable, joined ALANON, and finally got the back bone to call it quits. Don't waste your life or involve kids.

How severe? And the number one resaon women get with men like this is because they think they can fix them....If he wants to drink he's going to drink!!
But if you want to date him just because you like him then go ahead, just dont go into the relationship thinking you can fix him because odds are he doesnt want someone trying to fix him yet.

No I wouldnt. My mother was in a relationship with someone just like that. And one night he choked her, the law was called. Believe me, you dont want that for yourself, or your family. No drunk is worth that. You can do sooo much better. I can tell.

No. Unless you are willing to take a lot of heartache, avoid him like the plague. Tell him you will date him when he decides to quit drinking and own up to his habit.
