I'm a new student of soto zen and I've rearranged my schedule a few times for zazen but can't seem to find the right time. Mornings are so rushed and evenings I feel so tired. When do you sit?

I'm Tibetan Buddhist, but I generally try to sit meditation in the afternoon, when I'm not too wound up and not too tired. Only you can decide what's best for you.

I am not a Zen practitioner, but I occasionally sit zazen during sessions of exercise if the workout room is unoccupied except for me. (this happens every third time I go approximately.) It isn't the best place, but I get a short zazen session in, whereas I wouldn't think to do it during the busy everyday of home life. Perhaps you can make time to go to a park on your lunch hour and sit there, if it is a safe place. Or if you have an unused room, like a conference room at work, just go there and sit at lunchtime. Just take time in the middle of things. I used to go to a lake that was filled with life every lunchtime, and that was my sort of "meditation" years ago. Perhaps you can incorporate zazen in lunch hour. Just a suggestion!

Best time to sit is when you're tired.
