I asked a question about limiting the field for races. I also got a lot of flack for it. What I meant by that question was this...

Why do they allow certain drivers to qualify by owner points, or becasue they are a past winner, or past champion, or whatever? Why not make everyone qualify by speed? If they can qualify they race. If not, even if they've won 40 championships and 80000 races, they don't race. I hope this makes more sense to everyone.

I apologize, but I missed your first round! As far as the new version, it is right on!!! Just think about Darrell Waltrip,. In his time, he was one of the best drivers, probably of all times! Then one day, he wasn't so competitive any more. So he started using his past champion provisional, provisional this, provisional that, etc., etc., etc.!!! They even made up a few for him. All this did was prolong a career that had already ended, and might even of ended a few (you never how many times someone had one shot to be noticed but were bumped by Darrell and the provisional gang) before they had a chance to start!!! I am with you, run what you brung, and race your way in or out!

That would really not work, what do you think would happen when one of the more popular drivers spun out or blew a tire and didn't make the field? That would never work although I do think something needs to be done, there seems to be more and more cars qualifying for the races and alot of the fast guys don't get in because of all the provisionals. I'm not sure what the answer is. But qualifying just on the qualifying speeds isn't the answer. I know I wouldn't watch the race if my guy wasn't going to be in it. would you? I feel as though nascar will do something though.

Nascar is thinking of making changes to qualifying since there are so many teams showing up each week. It didn't use to be such a problem as there were only a few underfunded teams that showed up and had to go home each week.

With trying to do impound races a couple of years ago for each cup race, NASCAR didn't want to take the heat from big dollar teams and sponsors who showed up in race trim and missed the race to underfunded so-called field fillers who showed up with a qualifying set up and could only race a lap or two.

I agree that now that they are not doing impound races each week and there are so many guys who have to go home when they should be able to race it's gotten to be a problem.

I think that NASCAR should cut back on the amount of drivers that can get in a race based on points and provisionals. Like 30 maybe. That way more drivers could get in the race based on their qualifying time.

NASCAR tweeks the rules to give the best show for it's fans.
The quailifing set up is not as effective as it was say 10 years ago.
I am old school and think that the fastest 43 race the others must come back next event and try again. No free passes, top 35 or provisionals.

i'm kind of new to nascar, but i agree with you. I think kenny s should had been able to race Sunday. He has been it for a long time. I do agree that they should go by speed and not past chamopions etc.

Simply put, it's the same reason that a touchdown is 7 points in football, and a freethrow is 1 point in basketball. Nascar makes the rules, and that's the rule they wanted.

i went throught the same thing with my last boyfriend. we dated for a year and when we broke up we continued to hang out and date a little. the first time we hung out... it was like we were still dating but we werent. i think he needs time to get over you. i know thats strange because he broke up with you, but he had you for a while and he got used to having you around to hold and to kiss and thats something that is very difficult to just quit cold turkey. you should probably ask him why he kissed you if he's not interested. if he cant answer, you should probably stay away for a while because he's just trying to use you.

they should all qualify on speed makes the race better, and keeps the drivers on their toes.
