I'm new to Y/A and people in this category are really mean and
rude. Why is that? Are you people paranoid?

Ok, I get it, it's just a game you play with others!
Well, maybe I'll visit back and forward until I
build up a tolerance.

Should I have a drink?

Well, welcome, hope you have thick skin......that's the only way
to survive in R&S. If you're a Christian, you'll really get hit!
Just keep the faith, if you are.

Welcome! This category can be a little intimidating when you look at the questions and how people word them. Mostly it is Christians and atheists trying to get a rise out of each other. A lot of them know each other and bait each other with sarcasm. Don't worry, there are still plenty of nice people on this site. If you have a real question don't hesitate to ask. You might get some rough answers but just ignore them. That goes for the obvious troll questions that are just nasty. Answer the questions with kindness and try not to jump at the bait. Look forward to your input. ;)

By you people which ones are you talking about. The Christians, atheists, Muslims, catholics, blacks, whites, Irish, Italian? Come on. There are all kinda people in here. Some are ignorant. Literally meaning lacking knowledge. Others are to passionate to think straight as is evidenced in their answers. There are some decent people in the R&S section. You just have to learn to move past the mean and the rude.

Oh yeah and then there are the peole who have been in this section so long that they think they are being polite.

I'm sorry, people are just that way. . . .it made me think of this verse about don't feed pearls to swine....

.... if the lord opens the door / gives you an opportunity and you know it's God, go for it. Means don't waste your best on an unappreciative audience or recipient. Judge the calibre of your audience; some people will never understand anything even if you hit them over the head, so why bother? when you throw a pearl in front of a pig, he won't treasure it. he will however eat it. pearls being the only organic gem will dissolve and be lost forever.

so just don't let people get to ya!!! Shake it off & move on....what goes around, ALWAYS comes around.....some peolpe are just conditioned that way by theri peers & PARENTS!!

I've been on here awhile and I can say that you are correct in that many people on here really are rude and mean. Still, there are many who aren't. You just have to keep looking at questions and you will see that most people who answer on here are generally decent people. You will always find those who ask terribly offensive questions and those who will answer questions in a rude and hateful manner. That just shows that Y/A is open to all people - not just the nice and decent ones. Have faith and keep looking around - there are nice people here.

Look around you, it's a make believe forum full of "avatars." Do you understand the absurdity this represents?

First of all, I need to explain something to you. In religion there is an idea that states that when your soul has been liberated from the material, you achieve unity with the all-soul, making your body an "avatar."

This is important in religion because it is the basis of morality. One would understand that he/she should act righeously if he/she believes he is an angel. Typical Religious art prevelant from Buddhism to Christianity.

So this concept of 'avatar' is important.

WE ARE ALL AVATARS ON YAHOO ANSWERS.

But how do we act???

Meaning, we don't care about our avatars, only our bodies. The primary reason we feel pain is to sympathy and have compassion for our fellow man.

And look what we are doing.

This particular section is reflective of the real world, in that when participants of differing viewpoints intermingle, you get a lot of fighting. Everyone thinks they are right, and none are willing to back down. it really isn't paranoia, it's more like an unwillingness to accommodate the viewpoint of others.

Welcome to the war... just remember to keep your head down and keep moving... the enemy is EVERYWHERE! And they won't stop until you're assaulted, insulted, or CONVERTED!

That's how I felt when I first came on this site. You know what I think it really is? I think that no one wants to be told that their belief system is ridiculous or wrong. No one wants to be told they are a sinner or going to hell. Religion is a really touchy subject with a lot of people. Me, I believe in Jesus and so therefore I have come to accept that I will be ridiculed and people will try to prove me wrong. I just try to be understanding and forgiving because I know my Lord loves me and I am saved in Him.

Many people here consider their opinions to be fact. If you disagree with them... well, you are wrong and they are always right. You say the sky is blue, and they say it is green. They will insist you are wrong. And yes, I'm sure there are some paranoids who camp here on a regular basis.

Some of it's in-jokes too. Like the baby-eating thing. You'll get used to it if you hang around long enough. Problem is when any group of people congregate together for long enough you'll get the games and stuff. Like the drinking game, you'll see people sometimes do like

to your question. That's because some questions have been asked so many times before that they're really tedious.

Oh, and guess what, this is one of them!

*cheers*

I find that the most spiritually centered people do not need to force or defend their opinions, but only wish others well.
The people here are sometimes very much centered,
but then again, some of them are fighting their emotional battles under the notion of god.
Don't listen to them.
Pray for them, if you do that, instead.
And if prayer is not for you, then at least wish them well!
That is compassion, and it is at the heart of every great religion.
