Merriam Webster includes these definitions:

Faith = firm belief in something for which there is no proof

Fantasy = the power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need.

Depending on what you are inclined to believe they have remarkable overlap or are different.

Personally, I find the definition of fantasy congruant with that of faith. Both can be entertaining, but not based on any objective reality.

faith comes not just imagining something absurd or something that makes u feel good. it comes from the fact when u believe that there is some form of power which just beyond our imagination. it also can mean u have confidence on something or someone. faith can be in truth, on prudence of a wise person or on strength of the good.
fantasy is something which gives temporary relief to a person who don't want to face the real world. even at the back of the mind of such a person there is a feeling that after all nothing more than a 'fantasy'.....

Since this universe did not exist prior to its creation and will no longer exist after its annihilation, we conclude that in the interim it is nothing more than a manifestation imagined to be visible within our like fantasy life. To those who posses spiritual understanding they know this present life is just dream fantasy (or nightmare for most people). We take this fantasy life to be all in all, and using ignorance as instrument to acquire knowledge, we are cheated by the illusory energy of God and take fantasy for real and the real for fantasy. Certainly those who believe and have faith in the Supreme are trying to wake up from te slumber and those who wants to continue struggling in this nightmare world of miseries the Lord give them the necessary intelligence for keep playing in their worldly fantasy. And for those, this figment of the imagination is substantially real, and therefore are less intelligent.

NO! Faith is like believing in something that isn't there and fantasy could be good or bad.

That is the big question isn't it? I so envy those who have unquestioning perfect faith. It must be such a comfort. But each day of my Ilfe I strive to strengthen my faith and as a result, my peace.

No. "Faith" just means "to be convinced." It can be based on evidence, observation, experience, hearsay, reason, or just blind acceptance.
