I went to a home depot store today in NW USA. Looking up at the aisle directory all the signs were in english AND in spanish. In California there are billboards in spanish. In schools there are classes in spanish and NOW there is a controversy about Mexican immigration? Also, lately there is deep resentment towards Mexicans in the USA? Do many of you people realize that in Chandler, Arizona south of Mesa which is metropolitan area of Phoenix on any given day you can count hundreds of illegal Mexicans standing around waiting for someone to drive by and hire them to do labor jobs. What is strange is that the border patrol will NOT ever drive their buses around and round those people up so doesn't that give you the message that the U.S. government does not want to take Mexicans back to Mexico. If they finish building the border wall do you think they will check ids ?

What I think is ironic is that it appears hispanic culture is part of our own via what I mentioned but ironically it seems to me we are going in the opposite direction with border walls and other things. Some of you can't deal with a simple question without getting hostile can you? I was born in USA and paid more into this country than most of you. I lived in Casa Grande and went to school there.

The BP cant do a darn thing. There are cases where border guards were thrown in jail and are facing 15+ years cuz they were doing their job and a sp!c got hurt, ran home to their embassy and filed charges. Sp!c got a nice settlement. The guards are scared, they are armed, but not allowed to shoot for fear of prosecution. They might as well let them stand there waving welcome flags and handing out maps to the nearest Home Depot and welfare office!

The sad part is the US govt is doing nothing to help them. For some reason the politicians WANT illegals here and would rather throw border guards in jail than send the spics back where they belong.

If u take all the illegals that come from Mexico in 1 year, and they would band together, they would have enough force to revolt and change their own govt. We have helped other countries become democracies, why not Mexico? If they could replace the corruption with democracy, maybe they would stay home where they belong and quit trying to turn our country into Mexamerica.

It's like the old Superman show. The bad guy empties his gun shooting at him, to no avail, so in a last ditch desperate attempt to try and do at least some bit of harm, he throws the gun at him as well. Which, of course, never did any harm either. The "Everyone is an immigrant except the Indians" argument is the empty gun. They just are either too ignorant, or just to desperate to see how little sense this makes. The issue is ILLEGAL immigration. The founding fathers came over here before there were any immigration laws of course and the majority of the rest of our ancestors were more than likely LEGAL immigrants so their argument simply doesn't hold up.

Mexicans are already almost all over in Southern USA because the US Immigration officials cannot overcome the influx of illegals. Thus, they are just forced to adjusting to the Mexican life by posting Spanish with English for advertisements and instructions.

Mexicans are not U.S. Native Americans.

U.S. Native Americans kicked most Mexicans out of Spanish terrority. They damaged the Mexican Army so badly it made it easy for a few Americans to capture California.

The Southwest was actually Spanish terroritory. People from Europe created and named the first cities in California.

Best answer: "... The native tribes that wandered and settled in the southwest were not Mexican Indians. Mexico only occupied the southwest for 29 years from 1821-1850. Aztecs and Toltec cultures, language, and beliefs are quite different from the (U.S.) southwestern tribes - (i.e. Pueblo tribes, Apache, Commanche, Shoshone and many others active and extinct). To say that modern day Mexican mestizos and Mexican Indians are one and the same as the native tribes of the U.S. is nothing more than an arrogant claim to supercede present-day immigration laws. ... "

"Why Do People From Mexico Now Pretend They Are U.S. Native Americans?
Mexicans are not U.S. Native Americans. In fact, they never got along and they speak different languages.
The Southwest's Apache warrior Chief Geronimo was proud to have killed so many Mexicans after they brutally killed his wife, his children, and his mother.

Also, The Southwest's Apache language is not Mexican(Aztec). The Apache language is part of the Athabaskan (Na-Dene) Language Family which is spoken from California to Alaska. ( Not Mexico )

The problem has been around for a long time. Relatively few people were concerned, until in the early 1990's, when the illegals really began flooding across. And now even more people are outraged, because of the marches when the illegals began demanding rights, and to made citizens.
THe border ptrol won't attempt to round up these people with their busses, because as soon as the BP busses would round a corner, the illegals run. It would be a nightmare for the residents. The Government is probably stand-offish about rounding them up, because half of the country would revolt against the government. Not me, but a lot of people would.

yes. One thing is what we have as laws, the other thing is what people do. It takes extremes for peopel to realize they finnally have to do what they always were dreading to do...like the lazy drug bum that is dragged into the rehab center...

Yes, its allowed, but only because we allow it.

A change in attitude can make a difference between an empty street and a street full of mexicans waiting to be hired illigally...one simple attitude and policy change:

go after bussiness that hire new illegal immigrants...and fine them like hell...then use the money to combat illegal immigrants, prohibit people born from illegal immigrants to have citizenship--and have a merit point system to earn citizenship by foreign immigrants (based on intelligence, grades, and high tech skills) as well as the option to illegals to earn citizenship by 7 military years of duty by one member of the family (illegal mexican family) to serve to become citizens..that way...illegals can gain a degree of pride and honor instead of scampering around...doing shady deals and using up the resources of a foreign nation paid by the hard sweat of the US taxpayer like a parasite.

Soon thereafter with a change in attitude. The problem will be resolved.

There are several small strip malls in my area that have signs in spanish only. There is a day labor 5 minutes from my home and you never see a cop there. You wont see anything change until people stop screaming about racial profiling and let the police do their jobs.

""deep resentment towards Mexicans ""
I do not know where you have been or how you missed it. I grew up in in south Texas in the 50s and the "deep resentment" was always there. My Dad started telling me about it when I was about 10 years old and I did not believe him.I went to work in the Dallas area for about 13 years and it was worst over there.
What gets me is when a Mexican-American talks about it, white Americans go into denial. They then call me a racist. Hell yea I am racist. I had good training from white Americans. What do they expect for me to love you more, when I am treated like shiit. The deep resentment has always been there illegals is just another excuse for white people.

I used to work part-time as a cashier at a Home Depot here in Tucson, AZ. Management loves the Mexican shoppers because they spend wads of cash....not credit cards like many Americans. I have personnally watched a manager walk around with a rich Mexican shopper helping load crap in carts. It's all about the money.

Now a days a lot of in-store advsertisement is in Spanish.

One more thing.......

You will not find border patrol in the PHX area, except for the airport or bus station. The closest BP station is in Casa Grande.
