A house has 6 stories, each the same height. How many times as long is the ascent to the sixth floor as the ascent to the third floor.

Because there is no ascent to the first floor, each floor's ascent is the floor's number minus 1 times whatever time it takes for each floor (which I will call x). Therefore, the ascent to the 3rd floor is 2x, and the ascent to the 6th floor is 5x.

5x/2x = 5/2 = 2.5

The answer is 2.5
