To love someone is not free
The price you pay is the trust that you instill into the relationship with the person that you love (in hopes that that don't back stab you or turn against you)
That is why when things go bad, it hurts
In this I'm talking about friendships, lovers ...etc.

It's an emotion.
There's usually a reason you feel an emotion.
I don't consider sacrifices to be a good thing, so I wouldn't consider any of them "ultimate". I think that a man drowning in a river as he saves a child to be a tragedy. It would be much better to save the child without drowning. It would be even better if the child were prevented from falling in the river. In any case, the man drowning would be a bad thing, not a good thing.

Yes and Yes. Ultimate sacrifice is giving up the one you love to someone else because you know you cannot marry her.

If you look at the potential costs of love, that’s not really love. You must love freely without any thought of reward. Any other type of love isn’t really love.
If you don’t love at all, I suppose your heart can never be broken and you will never grieve. But if you can’t feel love or grief you are pretty much dead inside, anyway.

the free gift of eternal life (a demonstration of God's love for us by sending his son) is available to all, but it requires that we deny ourselves some worldly pleasures and sacrifice ourselves to God.
