I was going to ask that same question!! I think for me it is a mixture of both. I do have brown hair with blonde streaks an it is the same style, my eyes are green, I am relatively thin and I am white!! But I think my avatar is prettier than me!! I always look exhausted as I have four children and work. I suppose my avatar also represents my kindness.

Yes we are all so beautiful on the inside! But some of the Avatars are almost scarry!

My avatar more or less looks like me, except for the fact that in real life my hair is shorter than in my avatar. I'm trying to grow it out, though, and get it cut kind of like in my avatar.

My avatar looks more like I did when I was younger (high school or college maybe) . Also, has a better complexion, no bags or dark circles under the eyes, and doesn't wear glasses like I do, hair lighter than mine, and skinnier/better proportioned than I've ever been.

Now that there's a grey option for hair, my avatar looks pretty much like I do.
I don't think it's beautiful, though -- too close to reality for that. :(

My avatar is me.
I like to use my picture because I feel it keeps me honest. I am not hiding behind anything -- if you met me today you would hear me speak exactly as I do here.
Bettierage is *far* more beautiful than her avatar would lead you to believe! :)

I actually kinda look mine, short brown hair, blue/green eyes, fair skin and medium build. I think I even own the outfit that I picked for it! Yes I do live near the Hollywood sign.
