2 different styles based on the same premise -- a good defense makes a strong offense.

I suspect the first rounds are going to be pretty boring, as mayweather tries to come out using his speed, and Dela hoya neutralizes that speed with his classic retreat step counter punching.

Mayweathers fast, but De La hoyas been able ot neutralize many very quick fighters with poise and patience.

After mayweather gets tagged with a few sharp jabs (remember De la hoyas a natural lefty) so that jabs almost like a short quick lead..and it will sting.
I saw him put tough gatti down with a straight jab.

After round 3 youll see De la hoya start letting his hands go, and Mayweather going into his defensive counter punching.
I truly doubt mayweathers speed is going to be as effective as hes been with everyone else -- since de la hoyas a very defensive fighter by nature.

The worst thing either guy could do is try coming out fast.
If either one does that - the other will capitalize on it.

My guess is 2.
De La hoya starts tagging and timing mayweathers speed, and ends it in 8 or 9 -- de la hoyas naturally bigger than mayweather and Ive seen him rocked and hes only lucky his speed was able to get him out of it against lesser fighters.

Now, if De La hoya tries to pressure mayweather like he says, and comes out too fast for his own good, I spin it around and say mayweather in 9, or it goes the distance and mayweather wins the decision.

Mayweather might try to gut check de la hoya.
Im not so sure hes tht daring as De La hoyas left hook will catch him off balance.

I also think mayweathers going to have a tough time throwing his own lefthook as de la hoyas keen to defending and coming right back with his own hook.

But ends by 9 either way, or goes to decision and mayweather takes it.

I say Mayweather by decision! Cause De La Hoya hasn't beaten a big name since 2002 versus Fernando Vargas. 5 years is a long time, especially in boxing. I predict Mayweather oh and they gotta make the fight good for a rematch...

Oscar will take a punch in the 7th, not get up, and be pronounced dead in the ring.

Shame to cause he looks like a nice guy.
