My daughter used Agent Cool Blue. She got a temperature of 104 and had a horrible infection
that caused pnemonia, pleural effusions, a collapsed lung and several other complications. She was hospitalized for 36 days. Per Listerine, the contaminated microorgamisms were pseudomonas fluorescens, klebsiella oxytoca, serratia marcescens and enterobacter cloacae.

At this time, there is no direct connection but I'm still researching it.

Any additional information would be helpful.

I am not sure what to think about this. My son used it...an entire bottle may I add, and nothing negative happened to him.

When I heard about the recall, I disposed of whatever was left, but until that point, he used it 3 times a day, and like I said, nothing bad happened to him...thank God.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I am assuming she is O.K. now, and hoping that she is.

Maybe my son was using an uninfected bottle. Who knows?

Pretty scary what could happen to the things we eat, drink, and use daily, and that we don't even know about it until often times it's too late.

Best Wishes to you and your daughter!

Listerine Agent Cool Blue Recall

My son started using agent cool blue only almost 3 weeks ago. He came down with stomach pains and vomiting twice last weekend. Saturday before Easter. I took him to the pediatrician Monday and was told he had strep. He went on antibiotics Monday. While he was better he still has this stomach pain. Usually when he gets strep within one day of medicine he is back to old self. I heard thursday about the recall and he stopped using agent cool blue. I've figured out that his stomach ache gets worse closer to the 10-12 hour mark when his next antibiotic is due. I called listerine directly. Don't use the agent blue number you wont get a real person. I discribed what was going on and asked what they found in the cool blue. Here it is Enterobacter cloacae Serratia Marcescens Klebsieooa Oxytoca Pseudomonas Souorenscens The first two when I look them up say they are highly antibiotic resistant. My pediatrician wants to wait until the last dose of medication to see if this will kick it. Just beware this is more than a few microorganisms. These kids were directly putting in there mouths antibiotic resistant organisms that cause anything from UTI's ,. pneumonia, GI problems, Respitory and Sinus.

My Brother left half a bottle of Listerine here and rather than waste it, I used it, my FIRST and last experience. My tongue went numb, then it got hot and I was not impressed. You try answering the telephone when you tongue is numb!
