You need a fishfinder to locate them...usually in a hole.

A dry ice bomb with pebbles in it works well too. Making these things involves risk of serious injury but it's cheap and easier to get than dynamite.

No! but there is a joke about it.A D N R officer asked an angler how he always catches so many fish and the angler invited him to go with him.The next day on the lake the angler lit a stick of dynamite threw it in the water and the D N R officer said he can't do that, the angler lit another stick of dynamite handed it to the officer and said are you going to talk or fish?

Sounds fun but its not really fishing. Its just blowing sh_t up. I can see how it would be "boring" if youre just sitting there. Try casting a lure. Its more fun when you know youve fooled them and put a little work into catching them. I find nothing "boring" about it. I think its relaxing and fun.

Yes I have, it is highly illegal in the United States so don't get caught.
Use no more than a quarter stick and weigh it down so it sinks rapidly once lit.

More than a quarter stick ruptures the fishes swim bladder and they sink.

That's a technique similar to the one used in the west only they use what's called an Okahoma spinner bait(you know, the one you have to pull the pin before you cast it)...be careful not to cast too close to the boat!
