I think you should add a full vehicle function check. I see too many cars out there with brake lights out...

The Bible says pray unceasingly so yes a National Day of Prayer does seem a bit illogical. Does that mean we are not to pray every other day? I hope not.

And, I hope you check your tire pressure more than once per year.

I think we should have both! Then again, I wonder what kind of greeting card Hallmark would make for "National Check your tire pressure day"?

(PS Anyone can meditate of any religion even atheists, so the national day of prayer could also be considered national day of prayer and meditation.)

I beg to differ, prayer accomplishes so much more. A national day of prayer may influence more people to pray who are not. Especially when there are two or more that touch in agreement. Do you think you are still here by luck.
No! There are people out there praying for you. Gods Grace and mercy has kept you. It was pleasing to him to wake you up this morning.

You should thank him!

Checking tires is just messing with hot air. Our National Day of Prayer reminds us to engage in something much more meaningful.

Guess you don't get out much. Sounds to me like you don't know much about how important prayer is or what the results can be. I'd recommend doing more research. Here's something to get you started.

I pray that God will bless you as you think about this.

That is a good idea, and it might actually save a few lives as well. Bus and Transport drivers are supposed to do a tire check every day, but the general population (myself included) rarely does.

don't understand why you'd be against a day of prayer, when if it was a muslim asking for time to prayer in the work place you'd probabley be first in line to make sure they got it. If someone wants to pray to god why would you feel threaten, if it was a day exploring evolution would you have the same opinion. We have our believes and it seems christians are given the least room of tolerance.

I think I'd prefer a National Day of Your Mom.

I agree. We pray everyday, but don't check our tires often.
