Wellbutrin has helped me with my panic attacks. Speak with your doctor to see if you can at least try it. Everyone is different. At first I was scared to take medication for it. But panic attacks are "no fun". And with wellbutrin I feel fine. I haven't had any side effects.

My niece takes it and seems to be doing fairly well. Your prescribing doctor should be sharing the pros and cons with you. If not, be brave and ask questions. You have a right to know. Some medications work well for some; but as you know, it's highly personal. You may have to try a few different types until you find the one which works well with your body chemistry. Personally, I'd take the extra pounds any ol' day if it meant I would be feeling better mentally. Besides, stick thin is out! Good luck to you.

I have been put on wellbutrin but it did not work for me. Maybe it will for you. Valium works best for me and for many of my friends, xanax works and also klonopin. Those are the three best ones I know of for panic. I like my valium just fine, but it does have the side effect of being addictive... alot of panic meds do. Good luck in finding one to work for you!

Clonazepam (Klonopin) is generally prescribed for panic attacks. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant. Talk to your doctor or health professional--pharmacists know all there is to know about meds.

Changing your thinking is just as effective as welbutrin -- and changing your thinking doesn't have any side effects.
The more people think, the more panic they experience.
