I would try to find something from Tresemme' My hair is the most stubborn thing, but Tresemme' actually keeps my hair in place, plus it smells good. I think that something from this company would help.

i use v05 heat protectant. (it protects against blow dryers and flat irons). it comes in a triangular shaped bottle. it runs about $3.87. I buy mine from wal-mart.
