I had a filling done between two teeth, is it normal for the area to be sensitive to cold over a month later?

I do not know? I went to see my Dentist because I had a sensitive tooth? When I inhaled, it went ouch? Anyway he thought I had a leak on a filling, so removed it and then said 'This nerve looks angry!' I was going to reply 'Did it tell you that?' but he had instruments in my mouth. Anyway he put some stuff in and then donned a orange mask, kinda freaked me out a wee bit, then some weird light and then I had to wait. Next he put a filling in. After he finished I noted that my mouth was not numb, like usually you drool, half the face is numb along with the lips but NO? It seems he is using some new system, so can only deaden the one tooth. I felt a wee bit cheated as now I would not get any sympathy!
I would revisit or telephone the Dentist and ask him if this is NORMAL, because normal for me is being able to eat drink and inhale without my teeth going ouch.

actually no, it's not normal, what might have happened is that when drilling the dentist might have gotten too close to the pulp (the nerve center) he hopefully put something called dycal on it to serve as a liner over the pulp, hoping to keep it (not angry) in otherwords, unexposed, if it had been exposed, and if it is still hurting and sensitive the liner might not have been enough. I'd go back and tell him if I were you, don't quote me but it might need a root canal, again, DO NOT quote me :)
