Yes, I agree... it has made me lose a lot of respect for the christian religion's followers. I'm not saying that they are all bad by any means, just that the consistent lack of and disregard for the knowledge of this world and the near complete absence of a will to learn something outside of their belief or even think critically of their belief plain and simply blows my mind. It isn't that they're dumb, they are just too afraid to let go. Fear is a powerful motivator, and can make a beaten slave stay in misery on the plantation, even when the Master has left town.

True happiness comes from within, when we try to make ourselves happy by latching to something like religion, or a loved one, a materialistic possession, etc....We Will end up with a hole in our hearts because eventually everything fades. The way you felt about your significant other when you first met, it will fade. The way your brand new car makes you feel when you drive it out of the dealership, it will fade. All the pressure that a religion puts on you will eventually break your spirit. True happiness comes from within, once you humble yourself and accept the fact that we are only what we are and nothing else, then everything else will fall into place. Why do you come here to R&S? To find respect, friendship, understanding? From people who put their happiness and existence at the hands of things that cannot be proven or matter? go and speak to an enlightened person, a person who has realized that he/she is no more important, special, gifted, chosen or saved than anyone else. Thats what humanity should strive for. Humbleness, you definetely will not find it here.

I would like to offer my sincerest apologies if any person representing my religion has in any way passed judgment on your life. That is not what our religion is all about and a few , or even more than a few people who have misunderstood Jesus's message are pushing people away and bringing about resentments. I would like to add that this is not just a Christian shortcoming as you can tell by reading Q and A all over the site. Perhaps in the future we can all learn to be a little more understanding of each other.

I know it is hard to remember amongst all the hate and bigotry from the fundies but there are many wonderful Christians in the world. Even some on here.
Take the fundies with a big grain of salt and watch for the good Christians that are capable of thinking rationally and compassionately. They are here.

Yeah a forum like Yahoo Answers will make many people lose faith in other people especially when you see as much hatred and ignorance around as there is. It makes you wonder where is the love.

yes,i felt the same....i can't stand the way some christians say things like "your religion is false ,sorry" so bluntly! it's basic lack of manners that i genuinely haven't experienced from ANY person of any other religion....and they may say that people of all religions do this etc etc but i have to say that i have YET to meet a person of ANY other religion that's more insensitive, arrogant, and utterly condescending towards people.i have noticed this even in my christian friends in real life, though not to this extent i must say
they don't seem to realise that their attempts to get other people of other religions to convert by the means of "you will burn in hell for eternity" are not only irritating but also ridiculous and pathetic! i mean how can anybody save another from a "hell" that the other person doesn't believe even exists!
also, what i don't understand is HOW they can imagine that a person who doesn't even BELIEVE in God,can automatically develop "faith" when there is absolutely no proof whatsoever ...things like the existence of people don't necessarily have to be the doing of the CHRISTIAN God,do they? or ANY God for that matter....there are PLENTY of other, more valid explanations for the "miracles" of nature!

I know that sometimes it can be irritating to be treated in such a judgmental way that slatters of disrespect but I am a Christian and I respect you . Now I know words are cheap and you do not know me but let me assure you this Christian will not send you to hell because I am not going to be judge jury or executioner of you. Please dont be prejudiced to all Christians for this one Christian will not disrespect you.

I think there are alot of angry, frustrated people in this world, and the anonymity of the internet gives some a chance to say things they would never dream of saying to anyone's face. I feel sorry for the people whose ugly remarks show up daily in R&S. I pray God works in their hearts and heals the anger and hurt.

humans are just inherently evil... thats pretty much all there is to it. No humans, no problem. Try and find a politician that says that or a scientist that will admit it.
