Problem is the Bible's just a book--it doesn't prove anything because the best it can do is insist on its own authority, and that's just silly.

1. We need proof because without it, we are ignorant. Picking and choosing whatever comforts you most is illogical, and completely unrelated to what's true.
2. Human beings, for one, are not nearly perfect. And we're supposed to be this "God's" ultimate creation! Why did God give us the ribcage and spinal structure of a quadruped, causing up to one THIRD of all humans to have lower back problems at some time in their life? Why did God make it so that we sweat from our palms a lot, when that's a trait that is only useful to tree-swinging animals (and conspicuously only present in species that evolution has already determined we are related to)?

Unless you believe in a malicious trickster of a God, your belief makes no sense. I have only scratched the surface of features that humans have that could EASILY be better adapted to our environment--how about a spine made for walking upright, for example? Was God too stupid to think of that? No, of course not. Our bodies simply aren't the handiwork of a god--not any god with omniscience or omnipotence, at least. And any god lacking those traits should hardly be considered a god at all.

Because the bible fails to accurately explain anything, let alone have the predictive power that makes it in any way useful in the way science is. We wouldn't even be here at Yahoo if it weren't for the fact that we can rely on the predictions scientists made regarding the behavior of electricity as both true and consistent.

I think people don't like science because they fear the math. The Bible's so much easier because all you have to do is, well, nothing.
