1 and 2. It depends upon the reliability of the evidence. If scientific, I would want to see that the proper controls were in place to rely on any conclusion made. If it is word of mouth, then I would be reluctant to believe either way. I have a difficult time believing anything that does not have a variety of sources to back up its claims, and I don't mean several versions of the same book or several poorly conducted experiments which have the same result. Both are flawed.

1. Yes
2. Yes

I don't know if my answers are contradictory. If the source was an accredited scientific study or something like that, then I'd simply take it into my own beliefs. You can't argue with science. But I think there isn't a problem with believing in both religion and science. Science explains/makes use of what God created.

Yes to both. If it's something that contradicts then one should look at where, why and how. If I find something that just doesn't fit, I don't rely on it anymore. But if it's just something I can't explain or find an explaination, I research it more (if it catches my interest). As far as evidence being accepted, yes... but I don't believe science is the only place that provides evidence for everything in the world. =>

My source of information about God is from the bible. I do not mean any disrespect, but people who contradict the bible, and disagree with it, and bring up supposed "evidence" against it, while they are free to have their opinions, it would have no effect on what I believe at all. Likewise about any other source that might support it.

The bible is either true, or it is not. A particular person's agreement or disagreement with it will not negate its truth, or call truth into existence.

Young Atheist,
I read and study the Bible each and every day. I also read, study, and examine material with an open mind from contradictory sources each and every week.
#1. YES.
#2. YES.
What type of evidence do you have for me to review? I am eager to see it. Have a great day.
Thanks,
Eds, A simple Christian

1. Yes, if it does not contradict the Bible.
2. Yes, if it does not contradict the Bible.

I believe that the Bible is Word of God. I might be wrong, but God knows His business and He is right.

If I claim to be a seeker of truth, then if a non-religious source proved beyond any doubt that a belief of mine was erroneous .....so be it.
If their comments support my beliefs ....that's nice.

evidence must be evaluated, then either accepted or rejected based on its merits.

Finding evidence that contradicts your knowledge can be great - it's an opportunity to expand it.
