John 14:12-14: "Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it."

This is the “WORD OF GOD”. Either it's the truth, or it's a lie. These are the words of JESUS CHRIST the SON OF GOD. And “He that believeth on me” is every believer. I am not one to take things out of context, but I don't see any exceptions here. I don't see any excuses. I don't see any man made theology here.

How can I prove to people my GOD wants to make a difference in their life if when I pray for people, nothing happens?

Contrary to what you mentioned, there are exceptions to getting what you pray for.

John 15:7: "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you."

Psalm 66:18: "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened..."

James 4:3: "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

I Peter 3:7: "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers."

In His name doesn't mean that we add "in Jesus' name" at the end of our prayers. It is the same as one who has power of attorney. When I have a power of attorney, I am acting in the name of the person who granted it. If I do something with that power of attorney that is not what the grantor would approve, I am not acting properly in his name. Same with our prayers. They must be according to His will.

LOLLOLLOL So, let me see, U want to Prove something to someone else, is that it??? Why??? To show how Great U are??? For U see God has ALREADY SHOWN THE ENTIRE WORLD HOW GREAT HE IS if only by letting sinners still breath!!! I see that U set Urself above God in Ur act of Judging His actions or what U perceive as Inaction, is that right, is that what I'm reading??? So when will the Obits carry Gods' Passing leaving U in control??? Maybee U should rent "Bruce Almighty" w / Jim Carey trying to be God??? We will SELDOM know here on this Earth exactly what the results of our prayers have been & we're not going to be graded off for it either!!! Our responsibility is to spread the word & "pray without ceasing". There are some "Rules" about praying, the first concerns "Rebound", that is, cleaning OUR slate from sin FIRST, as in a state of sin, God cannot respond as he cannot communicate with us in a sinful state. Next, I would suggest that U read several times the prayer our Lord offered to God as a guidline for Us to emmulate. Last, leave it there!!! God knows what He is doing & we don't!!! Sometimes a supposed "lack of response" IS a response of NO! Get over it & keep on Truckin!!! John & Tam

Let me play Devil's advocate, for just a moment.
Have you ever thought that maybe your God doesn't want to make a difference in other people's lives?
I know. It's an awful question to ask. But I think, in fairness, it had to be asked.
At least I put it nicely. You could've gotten some raving atheist telling you all manner of phooey.
Anyway, I'm offering you a different point of view. Don't take it as bad.

We always expect results that we are looking for. We have to remember, God's will trumps any of our own, at least that should be the attitude of a praying Christian. But let me share something with you. My father was an unbeliever, a mocker and a scoffer. I prayed for him for ten years and never saw one bit of evidence that any of my prayers were having any effect at all. One day God started speaking to me. He brought before me the verse in the bible about idols, that they have eyes, but they cannot see; ears, but they cannot hear. He told me, I am not like these. I have seen, and I have heard your prayers.

Four days before my father passed away, at age 91, God worked a miracle in his heart. The last time my sister asked him (and she had asked him before), do you repent of your sins, do you accept Jesus as your savior? he said yes.

We cannot see the effect our prayers are having in the spiritual realm. Just keep praying, because it is what we are told to do. Let God handle everything else, and trust Him.

Look up the story of the mustard seed... Christ says that if we have Faith, even so much as the size of a mustard seed we can cast a mountain into the sea... I have yet to see any mountains flying through the air... no mortal has faith that great... and to receive all one must have complete faith... that will not be achieved in this mortal world... the answers to all prayers will not be made in this mortal world. Some answers will have to wait until we have achieved complete faith in Heaven.

How do you know nothing happens? Changes in our lives depend on how sincere we are that those changes take place. We can't pray for God to override someone's will. He won't answer that prayer. He will woo and draw them, but He won't force them to choose Him. And in the context of the Scripture, you will find the "anything" that Jesus is talking about.

Maybe your only to speak to them about how wonderful God is and be always in prayer for these people then step aside and let God finish what He has started in you..We can only do so much, and just maybe you have done what is needed to be done and God will either finish it Himself or He will bring another in to their lives...

Sometimes God's answer is NO. That's usually when I see nothing happening when I pray. We just have to accept the fact that sometimes God says no, just like any good father does.

If you believe that when you pray it isn't being answered then you need to focus on your own relationship with God instead of other people's . If you don't believe how in the world do you expect them too?

All prayer is answered we just have to know how to listen. We may not get the answer we want or expect, but we always get an answer. I know all of mine have been answered and when I thought they weren't I waited and time passed and I found out that it had been answered and I just didn't notice it because I didn't get the answer I wanted to get.
