Resolve yourself for the long haul. You must document all contacts in a book set aside for that use only. You are not going to believe the apathy and incompetence of the public sector. You MUST follow-up on all mailings and dealings w/ SSDI and the Bureau of Dis. Determination or not only will you be frustrated, but you will also have wasted your time. It's a 9-5 job for them, it's a lifetime for you--take responsibility for yourself. If you don't stay on top of where paperwork is w/ your caseworker, you will surely get "lost in the shuffle." Be cordial, but make sure you let no more than 5 days at a time go by between caseworker contact--you have to make sure you are remembered! The doctor's you will see are not there to treat or help you. Go in to determination appointments well prepared and informed of your particular problems. Whine, *****, Moan and Complain--being a good little drone will get you nowhere. I'm a diabetic, nutcase w/ half a leg missing--according to SSDI, I'm perfectly healthy!! So, Good Luck--Patience, but Persistence.
