We took him to the vet this past Tuesday for him puppy vacs and his de worming. Now he has a little bit of diarrhea and isn't wanting to eat. I just caught him going to town on his thick plastic water bowl which he has never done before. I'm wondering if he is teething. Would that cause all of these issues? How old are puppies when they start teething.

If you puppy has teeth which I am sure it does,he has already gone through teething.
He will lose those puppy teeth at about 4-5 months and the new adult teeth are right behind them and should come in without a hitch.
If your puppy just had his shots and deworming his system has probably been upset and for one, when I have diarrhea I sure am not interested in eating anything else that would help promote anymore diarrhea.
The worming medicine could have been alittle harsh for him and he is just plain feeling crappy.
If the puppy is eating on his water bowl,he is just being a puppy and they tend to chew on things until they get past the puppy stage.
Change your water bowl from plastic to a metal pan (no glass for now) and this will help this.
You can encourage him to eat by mixing alittle room temperature milk in with his dog food, provided you feed dry dog food. . .which is ALWAYS best. Even if he doesn't eat the dog food he will lap up the milk which will help ease a sick tummy and will help him to form more solid stool. ( Don't let the food with milk in it set out for more than 4-6hrs.)
As he ingests food in small amounts he will start to perk up and in no time at all you will have your puppy back to normal.
In the meantime make sure that he has plenty of water available to him as the diarrhea can dehyrdrate him rather quickly.

Good Luck

Puppies begin losing their incisors at about 3 months. So your puppy could be starting the teething process now. Give him lots of things of different textures to chew. Try freezing an old wash cloth that's been soaked in water and give him that - it's soothing to the gums.

He shouldn't still be upset by shots and de-worming. Perhaps it's because his gums are sore. Make sure he's drinking plenty of water so he doesn't dehyrdate. If he won't eat, try moistening his food a bit (just for a few days) to get him eating. If his diarrhea doesn't clear up, he should likely see the vet to find out the cause.

when they are loosing there milk teeth it will hurt some times they do go off there food.
you say it is ever since he has been for inoculations etc some dogs can be allergic to inoculations, mine is
If the stools go grey get to a vets ASAP!
your dog should never be wormed & inoculations all in one go!
this is to much for your little pup.
the should be wormed a week later.
the dog is wanting more water cause it is loosing water through having the runs.
How long has the dog had the runs?
if it longer than 3 days take to the vets he will become dehydrated.
make sure he has plenty of water.
the dog should be fed 4 times a day.
Cut back on the food feed him a tablespoon of meat every hour. I know this sounds like you are starving him but your not. the less food the less poo basically.
Do this for a day if it looks like it is clearing try again the next day by slowly increasing the tablespoon till he/she is back to the normal amount of food

Don't give it garlic it isn't good for them!!! Infact it is on the toxic plant list....Anyway I would contact the vet because loose stools or Diarrhea is never a good sign. They chew as puppys and start chewing bad at 12 wks but their teeth don't start falling out till about 14 to 16 weeks. My mothers dog had a upset stomach and the vet said to make it a bland dinner of boiled hamburger or chix (to remove greese and fat) and rice mix together and it help hers to feel better fairly fast but I still think you should call just to check in.

It may be just a side-effect of the shots and worming, but it would be a good safeguard to call the vet and discuss it, to make sure.

His interest in the water is because the diarrhea dehydrates him, and he needs extra water.

He could be teething and that could be contributing to his problems.

take him back to the vet, perhaps the medicine he is on doesn't agree with him.
if he was teething, then he would be chewing up all kinds of things. he wouldn't be sick.
hope he feels better!
