I have a blue egg, and i have been incubating it for about 5-6 days. Over the course of three days, there have been alot of changes in the egg as i candle it. The first day, veins started to appear from a large dark blotch in the center of the egg. Over a few hours, the veins spread out, and then, the next day(day two) the veins started to dissapear and the dark blotch grew larger, with weird, darker parts around the embryo. The third day, (today) , the darker splotches are gone and the dark blotch takes up have the egg, and there is a dark worm looking thing in the center. Is the egg alive? Do you have any sites i can visit for information on viability of bird eggs? Please tell me.

The fact that it continues to change day by day indicates that it's alive. I'd keep incubating it for now.

Sounds like it's still alive. And I agree that you should be able to find something on the net with really good pictures of what's happening in your egg. Have fun!

here is a web site I do not know if it will tell you about abandon eggs. If not try calling a local game warden they may have some insight.
