I AM 27 YEARS OLD AND IM 5'7 AND 235 POUNDS. I DO CARDIO 4 DAYS A WEEK AND LIGHT WEIGHT LIFTING ABOUT 3 DAYS A WEEK. I WANNA LOSE WEIGHT AND NOT GAIN TOO MUCH MUSCLE SO MY QUESTION IS, IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO REPLACE A MEAL WITH A WHEY PROTEIN SHAKE OR WILL THAT NOT HELP WITH MY WEIGHT LOSS AND KEEP THE FAT ON?

whey protein is simply powdered protein. it does not automatically cause muscle gain when consumed. there must be a caloric excess in the diet for sustained increases in muscle mass and the trainer must be using heavy enough loads when exercising to stimulate hypertrophy

lifting light weights is a waste of time for fat loss. training with light weights and high reps does cause an increase of the metabolic rate after exercise. training with heavy loads causes the greatest increase in the resting metabolic rate.
